Welcome to a podfic love meme! Specifically, a love meme for all contributors to the podfic community. (ty analise010 for coining that and to yue_ix for the gorgeous art below!) "Contributors" could include but isn't limited: podficcers, audiofic archivists and other infrastructure people, mods, meta writers, cover artists, and betas/cheerleaders.





Some information so that we're all on the same page!

1) Comment with your name if you want to be loved on!
Because some of us have better visibility in some parts of fandom than others, feel free to leave a short bio, links to your social media handles, links to what it is that you do, or whatever context you think is important.

2) Tell us what you want love for.
If you'd rather hear more about your podficcing than your work as an archivist, say so! If you want to hear just about your cover art, say so! If you want to hear about your modding AND your meta AND your podfic, say so! Help us make this as good an experience for you as possible.

3) Let us know if it's okay to befriend you.
With potential full-on bios floating around, we're getting into friending meme territory. If you're open to that, include that somewhere in your comment.

There's something about the way you read that I find quite soothing, and occasionally a little sly, as though you're sharing a joke with the reader that perhaps the characters aren't quite in on. Perhaps that's one of the reasons I always seem to find myself smiling through your podfic ^_^

I'd love some love for my podfic or cover art! I've been a little busy these past... years, to say the least, and not nearly as involved in consuming & making fanworks as I once was, or as I would like to be, and I MISS IT A WHOLE LOT. *clings*

Hey!! This is an awesome thing!

All my podfic can be found on AO3 (under Opalsong). I'd love love for that and my cover art (sometimes I work really hard on it and no one comments and that is a little dispiriting). I've also done some scattered other stuff: like being a director for Theatripod, modding Podfic Big Bang last year, and producing a bunch of massive collabs (and currently running a podfic experiment).

I can be found here on DW (though the only thing I post is all my podfic) and on Twitter (under Opalsong. I'm locked but if you wave to me & let me know you're a podficcer I'm more than happy to let you follow). Do not be fooled into thinking I have a tumblr - it is defunct and only still there because breaking links makes me sad.

I would love love for my work! I'm not picky about compliments :D but I'll admit to particularly enjoying to know when/if people *still* listen to older work (my SGA, Inception, but really anything!) or look forward to more of my podfic. I say this because I've been mostly very pod-blocked for a few years, and I'd love to stop that and start working/producing more again... and I know that the relative dearth of feedback and encouragement has not helped me in this respect, though I have supportive friends <3 and can't exactly call my work obscure either. So.. yeah. *shamefaced wave*

I would be over the moon for some love for my podfic! (As a few other people have said, would appreciate it for my cover imgs too, but that's definitely secondary to my recordings.)

I'm frecklebombfic everywhere - all my pods are on AO3 & I usually post to DW too, I have a messy tumblr and locked twitter (& always accept fannish requests). I would love more podfic friends, but choose whichever platform you use most often.

I've only been making podfic for a bit over a year, first in 1D and newly Hockey RPF, though I'm consuming avidly in a whole pile of fandoms (HP, Leverage, MCU, AFTG, Captive Prince...) Actually, this meme has been pretty awesome for recs, on top of being incredibly lovely to read :D

HI!!

Umm... I haven't been around much in the last couple of years. However, with some encouragement (and maybe technical assistance) I could get back into podficcing. See.. back around the end of 2015 my vision started to go. Yep, I was pretty much blind - corneal disease called Fuchs Dystrophy. In 2016, I had two corneal transplants and yes, my eyes are healing and I can once again see (mostly) YAY!!.

First, I couldn't have gotten through the days of not being able to do anything other than listen to podfics or music. (Do you guys know how hard it is to load podfics on your ipod when you can't see what you are doing... arrghh) I have so many people to hunt down and thank because their work made last year easier. If you recorded mcr, spn (dean/cas) or anything inception then I probably listened to your stuff. Or all of anatsuno's cause.. gah.. her voice is magic.

Second, I can see enough to read again but am still struggling with editing. So, anything I record seems to get stuck after that cause I get frustrated on the clean up process. (who doesn't?? LOL) Any tips are tricks for editing when you can't see the fine details where to crop would help me.

This is my nick just about everywhere. I mostly hang out on Tumblr. I always love new friends ^_^

I have so many fond memories of you from Inception fandom! You made amazing podfics and were always so active and kind on other people's works, including mine. A totally awesome and cheering presence online, and someone I really looked up to. Going back through your A03 page just now was like being buried in a wash of pleasant nostalgia :')

So, now that I'm writing more frequently and in the middle of a WIP, I haven't had nearly as much time to podfic; I can do one or the other, but not both, though Lord knows I still love it and hate I can't do it more. Sigh. I love podfic and podficcing. Not really sure I qualify for this given my meager presence, but consider this more a "I'm not dead"? And I always plan for more podfic in the future. I feel kinda guilty, really. There's so much fic that needs podficcing. I feel like I'm not contributing enough.

Things I Do (in order of preference for #memelove, I suppose, but I'm open to whatever nice things you wanna say):

• I make podfic! It is all either posted at my AO3, or compiled in the Awesome Ladies collections over the years.
  
• I make cover art! All of my cover art can be viewed at coversbybessyboo.
  
• I mod things! I have co-run #ITPE since its inception, and the Awesome Ladies Podfic Anthology since its second year (I also always do the cover art for ALPA). I co-ran Theatripod when it happened. I also co-chair Podfication, the (hopefully!) annual podfic convention!

I'm always down for new friends! Feel free to friend me and say hi (or not, if you prefer!) on whatever social media you want, I'm not locked anywhere :) (However, I'm VERY inactive everywhere but Twitter—if you wanna talk regularly, that's your best bet!)

Hello! I hear you about feedback. There's one podfic I poured my heart and soul into... and it got 2 kudos. [sigh] Oh, well, that means at least 2 people enjoyed it enough to bother, and I guess that's meaningful.

I listened to "The Judgment of Bucky Barnes" and enjoyed it! You use pauses to make it very clear who is speaking when, which is always appreciated. You brought a dry wit to the story that I really enjoyed.

Penny/Pennyplainknits on AO3 and DW. Most of my podfic was at the audio archive but a ton was lost when it went down. I'm not sure whether it's been restored or not.

I podficced in many many fandoms-SGA, Merlin, Inception, Bandom, SPN, a ton of small fandoms from Yuletide etc.

With so much of my stuff potentially lost- 8 years of work- I've really not felt like podficcing for a long while. It would be nice to hear if people still listen.

"Three Tasks" was one of the very first podfics I ever listened to, and it nearly ruined me for all other podfics. You handle the story with such delicacy and depth of emotion. OMG, your podfics were some of the first I ever listened to and I was absolutely entranced. Seriously, I was basically in awe and just listened to your podfics over and over and over again. The way you interpret the stories and read so smoothly and (it seems like) effortlessly, just absolutely lovely. The way you do voices -- distinct, but not over-the-top. The way the music is incorporated so beautifully. I just.... I really have such an attachment to your podfics.

You are one of those podficcers I would follow into any fandom, any story (even stories I'm not too sure about), because I know that I am safe in your hands (voice?). You are the reason I branched out from HP for the first time -- the ultimate gateway podficcer drug. If you read it, I will listen and ask for more. I followed you from HP to Merlin, to H50, to AI.....

You're totally an icon really. I'm pretty sure Pages In Your Passaport was the first podfic i ever listened to. And "On listening" was one of the things that pushed me to podfic. Basically what i'm trying to say is that you inspire me. You've changed the whole way i interact and consume fandom and i'll always be grateful that you did, because podfic is awesome and the podfic fandom is amazing <33333

(Also, your podfics are really really good! I still listen to Pages In Your Passaport whenever i'm feeling lonely or anxious , it calms me down and bring me nice memories :3)
