Welcome to a podfic love meme! Specifically, a love meme for all contributors to the podfic community. (ty analise010 for coining that and to yue_ix for the gorgeous art below!) "Contributors" could include but isn't limited: podficcers, audiofic archivists and other infrastructure people, mods, meta writers, cover artists, and betas/cheerleaders.





Some information so that we're all on the same page!

1) Comment with your name if you want to be loved on!
Because some of us have better visibility in some parts of fandom than others, feel free to leave a short bio, links to your social media handles, links to what it is that you do, or whatever context you think is important.

2) Tell us what you want love for.
If you'd rather hear more about your podficcing than your work as an archivist, say so! If you want to hear just about your cover art, say so! If you want to hear about your modding AND your meta AND your podfic, say so! Help us make this as good an experience for you as possible.

3) Let us know if it's okay to befriend you.
With potential full-on bios floating around, we're getting into friending meme territory. If you're open to that, include that somewhere in your comment.

My podfic lives here but most of my pre-2015 podfic is actually at cantapodpatrol. I also currently co-mod #ITPE and periodically co-mod WAGFAPE, a women and non-binary character-centric podfic exchange. I've also run a whack of older women and femslash-centric podfic fests and challenges, a lot of them out of audiofemme.

I saw your podfic Lights Out early on in my podficcing career and thought, "WOW. This is what an audio work should be. So, first of all, FLOUR, BUTTER, AND EGGS! I realize I have probably told this to you about 9 million times, but it is basically my number one got-to comfort!pod. I just know that if I listen, I will feel better after. Also... Lights Out (which is the first podfic I ever heard by you), just fills me with such absolute joy every time I hear it.

You are also just an absolutely amazing person. WAGFAPE is one of my all-time favorite fests. Whether I can actively participate or not in a give year, I voraciously download the podfics that are produced for that fest. Your gleeful participation in welovepodfic never fails to make me smile, and when you comment to one of my podfics, I fee like you really listened (which seems weird, but... it feels like you heard what I was trying to do).

Cantarina, you are SO GREAT. It's my goal to participate in my first WAGFAPE when it starts again (and do ITPE next year)! I adored your Addams Family podfic in Awesome Ladies this year... I can picture exactly where I was standing in the store when I was listening to it and had to stop walking because I was too happy and didn't want to bang into anybody. And also, I love that you are so welcoming and honest and willing to be a person on social media... I think you are fantastic. I had such a fun time planning future super-awesome podfic landcomm with you. You have smart and wonderful ideas and are also great at listening to others and making sure everyone's ideas get heard and everyone feels respected and important. Also your podfic is gorgeous. You have such a gift for character and a beautiful sense of timing and humor. I hadn't heard anything of yours for a while before the In-Person Podfic Love Fest, and when I listened to your clip it blew me away with how good it was. And then, of course, the next thing I heard from you was To Wednesday, upon the occasion of her wedding, which made me cry (in the best way).

Also I love how you are willing to play with podfic and try new things. I remember way back in the first round of pod_together, yours was one of the first pieces that really played with what a work written for audio could do that was new and different. And I think a lot about that one fic you read aloud to an audience that had the surprise pairing, and how you chose to record in a way that captured the audience reaction to the story as it unfolded. I love that!

So I did what I said I'd do and checked out some of your podfics, and ended up on a mini listening spree this evening and oh my gosh, oh my gosh what fun, what delight! :D You might notice a sprinkling of kudos and comments today -- I was delighted that when I filtered down your works to f/f podfics, I immediately saw an Addams Family and two Brooklyn Nine-Nine recordings. Oh my god. What bliss.

And your reading style is so lovely and makes it easy to get lost in any story you're performing. I really like your character voices and the way you evoke emotions -- for example, I listened to the October Daye poems you performed and it was like being punched in the heart. But in a good way! :')

I'm just really happy right now. And even though I've already got like, five million fics on my want-to-pod list, I'm now inspired to look up some f/f fics to put on the list -- and move up the queue. :D
