Welcome to the final day of Amplirecathon! Today, anybody may post any recs they want, without needing to have signed up.

This is the first of two Official Mod Posts for gathering recs that I'll make—a rec request post! In the comments of this post, if there are any categories of podfic rec that you'd like to ask for, make a request, and others can reply to your comment with podfic recs that fit your request. For example, if you're like me and loved

kalakirya's characterization recs and would like to request other podfics where people feel the reader particularly stood out at their characterization of one or more of the characters in the story, you can post a comment with that request. Or if you are trying out a specific new fandom and want more recs in that fandom, or want recs of readers who have a certain style, etc.

SPN gen recs, please?

That's the largest area of the archive that is a fandom I love but I haven't really downloaded anything yet, and I'm looking to rectify that before I head out on vacation next week. :)

I'll be back with more, but it's always wise to start with Red, read by grrli and twasadark. This is actually a good one to bring on vacation. Long and plotty and full of Sam&Dean feels that the readers let spin out beautifully.

Anything by roque_classique is good and there have been some great recordings of her work: I'd drive all night (http://www.audiofic.jinjurly.com/id-drive-all-night-just-to-get-back-home-audiobook) sticks out but there are many more.

I second all the recs posted so far. Four more to add on:

The Long Narrow Rope, by pdragon76, read by twasadark. Pre-series, John's POV. twasadark reads an incredible weary-parent John. This was the podfic that made me decide I had to download pretty much all of twasadark's podfic. This fic is my favorite kind of take on John, too - he messes up (sometimes pretty badly), but ultimately he's trying to do right by his sons.

When Heroes Go Down (They Go Down Fast), by buffyaddict13, read by darkemeralds (emeraldsedai). This is a long apocafic branching off of S2. The character and world building is amazing, and darkemeralds does an amazing job with it.

The Gloria series, by unoshot, read by crinklysolution. A beautiful gen fic about Castiel. I'm a big fan of crinklysolution in general, but I've always especially loved her use of sound in this podfic. It's really subtle, and it works beautifully.

The Fundamental Image series, by rei_c, read by leviticus_lied. Pre-series (high school and Stanford era, depending on the story) Sam-centric. The writing is gorgeous, and leviticus_lied reads these stories perfectly. She gets Sam's frustration, fear, and conflicted emotions just right.

I'm not too picky, fandom-wise. My main ones lately have been Bandom, Supernatural, Stargate Atlantis, and I'm just getting into Teen Wolf. But basically, as long as I know something about the fandom (or as long as no fandom knowledge is necessary to enjoy the podfic), I'll give it a go.

Oookay, I've got a long list of ones that I love to pieces (or have fond memories and just haven't listened to in a while). Unfortunately, my internet is sporadic enough to make giving links at the moment difficult so they will come in a follow-up comment.

These are all PG-13 or so, but ones with a * may be borderline too much for you, so I'd suggest reading them before playing them somewhere you might be interrupted if you're worried.

Supernatural
How Traditions Get Started: (A: entangled_now, R: FayJay) Amazingly hilarious fic about a post-apocalypse thanksgiving and FayJay nails it and never fails to make me giggle and have strangers stare at me.

Tall, and Tan, and Young, and Lovely (The Girl From Impanima Goes Walking): (A: twentysomething, R:definestrange) definestrange does an amazing job of bringing twentysomething's words to life and the frustration and the awkwardness of Sam & Gabriel's situation is tangible in this.

*A Progression of Arguments: tinypinkmouse is amazing and their voice adds so much to Sam's internal monologue here. There are nazi clowns and lectures run by elk. (Check the end for it's explicitness)

Good Things Do Happen: (A: trinityofone, R: dyaoka) Christmas fic. Zombie Christmas. Dyaoka makes the awkwardness and gratefulness that Sam feels come to the forefront. It's been a while since I've listened to this, but I still love it.

*Something About Toads: (A: pyrebi, R: twilight) Princess & the Toad w/ Dean and Castiel. Twilight's reading style is PERFECT for this, just dry enough to highlight how absurd it is while still sounding like they're just holding back from laughing themselves.

Start Quoting Shakespeare and We're Done: (A: pyrebi, R: kalakirya) Kalakirya is among one of my favourite readers and their style makes this story sing.

Unorthodox Methods (Crossover with White Collar): (A: captanddeastar, R: reena_jenkins) Reena is fabulous and her reading style puts you right in with the action and never fails to make me smile.

Stargate Atlantis
Sam Adams Moment (crossover with Bones): (A: siriaeve, R: reena_jenkins) Again, Reena is fabulous and John's & Booth's excitement is hilarious.

MY Name Is John Sheppard: I'm A Mathematician: (A: thingswithwings, R: lunate8) The intro music, and the style just makes it hard NOT to smile. MATHNET! Lunate does an amazing job with Rodney's incredulity and this podfic never fails to make me smile.

Stoned By The Villagers: (A&R: waldo) Accidental drug usage leads to hilarity. I've always loved Waldo's style of reading which makes stoned!John even more entertaining than reading it and Carson's exasperation is so obvious.

Zelenka's Daughter: (A&R: jenwryn) Jenwryn's accent works amazingly with this fic and their voice just works with the melancholy of this fic.

Bandom
About This Old Coffee Shop & Oh Bury Me In Your Quiet Love (A: twentysomething, R: pennyplainknits) Penny just has such a lovely voice and makes listening to these podfics magical, especially considering I'm not even in this fandom.

Miscellaneous
Delicious: (A: newredshoes, R: pennyplainknits) Eddie Izzard stand-up fic. Penny NAILS his delivery and this is SUCH a hilarious podfic. (I'd also suggest the audio of his shows as well)

Shoebox Project (A: lady jaida and rave, R: McCollin Knight version & collaborative) The collab version does more of the series, but my default for listening is the McCollin Knight version (mainly because that was the first version I heard and just sounds *right* with the slightly record-grainy audio quality)

Stealing Harry (A: sam storyteller, R: revolutionary_jo) the extent of your HP knowledge is pretty much what you'd pick up from popular culture (same goes for Shoebox) and Jo's voice makes wee!Harry so much more adorable.

Hmm, singing. Here are a couple of mine where I sing (but the singing isn't a major part or anything, they just have sections where the characters sing and I do the singing). It's pretty much all due South and all folk songs:

Any recs for Once Upon a Time podfics? I've only listened to one (by Cantarina, I believe) and it was adorable. Anything focusing on Mr Gold/Rumple would be preferred, but really, if it's good, I'll listen to it (when I get the time after the kids go back to school:)).

I would love recs for podfic that focus on team!fic, friendship, team-as-family, etc amongst an ensemble cast of characters. I am especially interested in Avengers (& related movies), Stargate Atlantis, Buffy the Vampire Slayer, Star Trek Reboot, Firefly, Doctor Who, anything Tamora Pierce, or stories that don't absolutely require knowledge of the canon to appreciate.
