how excited am i? very excited. i am also learning that using a shared mod account is a strange experience. i am an aggregate person! and consequently a much more enthused person than usual.

okay, down to business.

these very lovely graphics are freely shareable for use promoting the [livejournal.com profile] amplificathon - help yourself!

i'm going to get all earnest and sincere here for a minute, fair warning:
it's true, what it says up there in image 4. we do love your accent, because it's a wonderful reminder of the fact that we aren't all the same, that we are all diverse geographically as well as a million other ways. be heard. let us hear you.

okay, enough of that! we kick off monday! time to promote! time to find fic! time to record! i'm pretty sure this post has more exclamation marks than can possibly be healthy!

heh. yes, we are aggregate, but honestly, you can always tell when it's me. :p

i get so sad when i see people posting about how they would record podfic, only no one would want to listen to their accent! they are so wrong. and the only way i can think to convince them is with ENTHUSIASTIC ALLCAPS (AND POSSIBLY EXCLAMATION MARK OVERUSE)!!!!!

So true! Many of my favorite readers have lovely accents, Anatsuno for one, and all the great British readers. And Sadcypress, for God's sake, who apologizes for her lovely Southern accent!

Of course, I left out Dodificus just to piss her off.

i apologize for my accent when i am, you know, talking to people in real life, because i am not a big fan of whiny midwestern. but i want to represent the whiny midwest in fandom! here i am! i am here!

who is it with the great california accent? [livejournal.com profile] hack_benjamin22, i think (maybe? possibly i need to re-listen)...and [livejournal.com profile] lillyjk's is tennessee, i think, and it's great, too.

You, whiny? You must be on the good crack. You have one of the most pleasant voices in podfic, very cultured and soothing. I adore it!

I can do a Texas twang if I put my mind to it, but mostly I'm pretty generic middle American. Lots of moving around as a child, and too much TV. When I was in Hawaii in the late 60s, early 70s, people used to say I sounded British. I think they just weren't used to an American who enunciates. It used to crack me up!

I'm bad about identifying accents. Mostly I only notice the obvious ones, and even then can't pin them down except in the most general way.

Give me a good Texas twang, though, anytime. That I can recognize. I love it when Jensen and Jared slip, though they don't do it much. One of the bazillion things I love about them.

I've really enjoyed listening to readers with different styles and accents, and I love [livejournal.com profile] general_jinjur's style so much that I went and downloaded anything in the audio archive that she read. I'm on my second listening to In the City of Seven Walls. Her voice is so seductive sounding with that story that it really compliments the fantastic story Auburnothenna wrote.
I've got one podfic done that I'm posting tomorrow. It was just a coincidence that I decided to try this at the same time the [livejournal.com profile] amplification got off the ground, but it has increased my motivation on the project.

See, I told you you sound all cultured and suave. Neeners!

You too: add podbooks to your interests! It's embarrassing when total strangers have heeded my plea, and those nearest and dearest to me are ignoring it. So unloved, me.

I wouldn't bad mouth you behind your back if I didn't know you were stalking me and would come over here and see it. What fun would it be otherwise?

Speaking of which--and mind your tongue (what is it with you and that tongue? It seems to accompany most of our communications), foul mouthed youngster--why isn't your LJ showing up as having an interest in podbooks, huh? Answer me that, and it had better be good!

Humph again and always; you're such a trial to me. See if I ever make another podbook for you! Well, after USI, anyway, and any other stories you read for me, and any others whose authors I might like, and...

Oh, go away!

I'm lazy with the interests thing but you've totally shamed me about it now - in front of everyone, no less!- so I'll go do it now.

BTW: Guess who's going to get a nice present in their inbox today?

For 1.5 seconds I thought the title of the post was 'porno pics', lol. These are great, btw, so great that I can't decide which one to use. :/ (maybe I'll use more than one and in different places!)

Very nice graphics, thank you so much!

I have to say I'm pretty excited. I've had horribly painful carpal tunnel for six weeks, and had run out of projects that didn't involve knitting or extensive typing. Talking, though, I can still do. :) Plus, I had to learn how to use the software and the mike and how to record and make hours of mistakes...so the Amplificathon has already kept me nicely occupied. :)

Thanks for hosting this!
