This is a podfic of a short fic I wrote for fan_flashworks last year. I was having a discussion with a friend about accents, and I explained, as I do so often XD, how my partial love for Justified is based around its accents being so familiar and not the subject of mockery. She said that despite knowing me for several years and having actually met me in person more than once, she had never heard my actual, native accent. I thought about it, and realized that no one outside of my family has ever heard my native accent. This is it. XD This is a "just once, with shaking" recording, as this is only the second podfic I've done.

Thank you! I adore the show, and there's hardly any love for it that I can see. I must hang out in the wrong places. XD It's such a familiar setting to me, from the way people talk to the sort of stores they have. (Mags Bennett's shop? I swear I've been in there. XD )

It is shot in part outside Pittsburgh PA, where my husband grew up. The scenes that run behind the credits are *very* familiar!

I'm not from that far into the Appalachians, but I agree--I know some of those people. The other thing that's much like home is how bizarre events, taken in context, seem pretty normal. Example: Our office (semi-rural shop of the Department of Transportation) is pretty much shut down for the first three days of deer season, and no one finds that odd at all.

Wait, you mean the first day of hunting season isn't an official holiday?? XDXD

The schools in my county close on the first day of deer season. It's pointless to keep open - no students in classes and no teachers to teach them.
