The Nero Wolfe books are detective novels written by Rex Stout over about 40 years, from the mid-1930s to the mid-1970s. All the books were set in the year they were written, but the characters remained the same age throughout the series.

Nero Wolfe (link goes to wikipedia page) is a genius detective who never leaves his house on West 35th St. in New York. He's in his mid-50s. Here is what he looks like in the popular A&E tv series (link leads to wikipedia photo), as played by Maury Chaykin.

Archie Goodwin (wikipedia page) is Nero Wolfe's "legman," collecting clues and rounding up witnesses so Wolfe can question them. Archie narrates all the Wolfe books. He is in his early 30s. Here is what he looks like in the A&E tv series (link leads to a fan page), in which he is played by Timothy Hutton.

Saul Panzer (wikipedia page) is a private detective Wolfe sometimes hires to help him and Archie with cases. Saul has an amazing memory as well as an ability to look inconspicuous and unremarkable. He's older than Archie but not as old as Wolfe. Here is what he looks like in the A&E tv series (link to fan page), as played by someone called Conrad Dunn.

Glad you like it! :D Agree that there needs to be more Nero Wolfe podfic. There are actually a couple of fics I know of that would make good podfics--if only I could manage to do a decent Archie-voice, I might attempt them.

ETA: I think some of those fics are yours, actually. I salute you and your NW writing skillz! I've been trying to write a Nero Wolfe fic of my own, but it's just kind of staggering along in fits and starts.
