Amplirecathon 2012: crossovers to do housework by

i discovered podfic about three years ago and doing the dishes became a lot more fun. i could go on for ages about how much i love the artists that have brought me such joy with their readings and how i've listened to podfic over and over, and how grateful i am to archives and communities that support all of it, but if you're reading this, you probably already know what i would type, so i'll spare us all the time.

it never occurred to me that if i signed up for the second week of the Amplirecathon, that my previous thought of i download so many podfics, and love them so much it'll be hard to pick just some would be changed to wow, a bunch of the ones i'd rec of the top of my head have already been listed at least once, what's something different i could share? so i'm going to list some crossovers that i don't remember seeing go by yet. most of these have been around for awhile, but that doesn't mean they are at all passé

some thoughts about all of them - many of these include tiny fandoms which i'm not in. some of them are from books/shows i know only a little about. i still was able to understand and love them. also, i don't tend to read gen despite knowing there's great fic out there. again, that didn't cause me to love these any less. and it's a given that all the readings are awesome.

austin and doctor who, what's not to love? and who among us suspected that there must be aliens involved for willoughby to have left marianne? this fic is brilliant mix of two disparate fandoms and one of my repeat listens.

sherlock's getting owl post, luna's getting married and john's confused. this is a lighthearted and glorious blend of the worlds. another of my pick me up and make me grin listens.

i'm not in either fandom. i've only seen one episode of spn (though admit to seeing all the versions of high school musical.) this is still one of my favourite fics when i need a smile. bodyswap fic. ryan and sharpay accidentally switch with sam and dean. it's awesome, trust me.

again, i only really know one of these fandoms, but i still understood enough to adore this podfic. though the relationships are important, the fic is more about the jack and merlin and the ways they meet each other across time. it's a little hard to explain, but well worth the time to listen.


there are so many more brilliant podfics out there (and in my itunes) that i hate to end my post here. but as they say, if i were to list them all the internet would run out of ink. i hope some of you will enjoy the above recs as much as i do.

I am totally baffled as to how I could have missed the fact that FayJay recorded a Black Books/Doctor Who crossover. That hits three for three in my favorite things & people department! Thanks for drawing my attention to it. :D

Oh!!!! Thank you for these! It funny, because I tend to shy away from cross-overs, but every time I listen to one, I think "MOAR CROSSOVERS!!!!!" I think it's time for me to take the plunge and just go for it! Thank you so much for these recs. I'm off to download!
