This is my first time participating here. I hope I don't do anything wrong. I just now noticed that I'm supposed to rec podfics that are new since last year. I am going to stick to my original list because I think most of them are new since last year, but a few of them are older. I really hope that's ok.
So, most of these are Merlin stories with two exceptions.

I know Holmes vs Harkness was already recommended, but it really is that good. The story is good and

I saw that someone recc'd this one already, but it really is that good.
lunchee does great sound effects in this one and the story does a really good job of poking fun at fandom without deriding fans for their passion.

I was actually a little wary of this story because it's a teacher/student romance, but I trusted
lunchee and it totally paid off. The story doesn't take itself too seriously and
lunchee has a way of reading that brings the humor to the front, so even as poor Arthur is in the depths of depression, I'm peeing my pants because he's also being sooo ridiculous.
Listen, Learn (written by anon, recorded by
sophinisba )
sophinisba = sophisticated to me. She has a sultry voice and her choice of stories to podfic is always thought provoking. Listen, Learn is about 20 minutes long and everyone should listen to it. You really don't need to know Merlin to appreciate this story. Merlin is blind and Arthur is the reader. This one is probably worth listening to twenty times. It has so many layers and will have you thinking long after it ends.
The Trouble with Witches written by

quintenttsy (aka
leish )
This is a little story that is just awesome. It's got a new character from S4 and Morgana and I had a huge smile on my face by the time I finished listening to it. It has a bit of a somber tone to it that
leish nails and yet, I was smiling and practically dancing at the end along with her.
The Student Prince written and read by

I came to The Student Prince late. Like years late. I came to fandom and podfic late. TSP is an amazing story and I never would have made it through a story this long if it hadn't been recorded. But hurray, it was! Fayjay reads like a boss and her world building is phenomenal. It's a wonderful story and you should just listen to it.

This was the first podfic I ever listened to, back in February, and it blew my socks off. I listened to it again shortly after, somewhat afraid to venture forward. DRP is funny and sexy and cute. I love how she does Merlin's voice in this one.

(I can't get the middle of this post to work, but Places That Don't Know My Name is a DW/Social Network crossover and it's a wonderful story. I am not in either fandom (but somewhat familiar with them) and it was that good.)![[personal profile]](https://www.dreamwidth.org/img/silk/identity/user.png)
adds so much with her voice. She really nails both Mycroft and Jack and the story is hilarious.

These are the standouts for me, since I started listening to podfic in February. I hope that those of you not familiar with Merlin fandom will be encouraged to dip your toes in with some of these. I'm sorry if this is a bit disjointed. I am on vacation and the browser crashed on me half way through.
