Date: 2014-05-01 05:58 am (UTC)I've just discovered podfics this year, after finally rejoining "fandom" after a long absence. Unfortunately, my main fandom has a very small audio footprint, so tonight I was scrolling through the amplificathon tags for podfic that I might be somewhat familiar with. I found pro wrestling, RPF - Hey! I actually know a lot about that fandom...as it was 10 years ago.
A very long story just to say, thank you! Finding your reading was a lot like finding a very cool, unique item in a vintage store. I had no idea that Mark Calaway/Jeff Hardy podfic even existed, and then to find it and have the read be so good was a delight!
I'm American, and will admit, at times I sort of zoned out of the "words" you were saying and just fell into the sound of your voice; which sounded like the snow, sounded like tentative Mark, and tentative Jeff. Then I'd snap back to focus, and fall into the gorgeous language of the writer.
Thank you for creating and sharing this.

Date: 2014-05-01 07:33 am (UTC)Recording the podfic was very much an exercise in nostalgia for me. It was something I used to be in, well, some time ago, long before I knew about something like podfic. I wasn't even sure that the podfic would find an audience anymore, but I'm very glad it has.
I know what you mean about zoning out on someone's voice, instead of really hearing what they're saying. It happens to me with some podficcers, and it's nice (well, nice isn't a strong enough word) to hear that someone feels that way about my voice.
And it's always great to hear that someone has found podfics, they're what made me rediscover the joy of fandom after all.
