Summary: In which Prince Arthur meets Merlin and all hell breaks lose.

Well first of all, a big thanks to [livejournal.com profile] rageprufrock for not only writing what is probably my very favorite Merlin fic, but letting me share it with you all as well. This is another podfic for me that has been a long time coming. I originally recorded it somewhere around the vicinity of summer 2009 and then tucked it away for myself because another podficcer had beat me to requesting it. Seeing as a bit of time has passed and there's been some interest building for it again, I contacted Pru back and she was kind enough to speak to the original requester on my behalf. They were very gracious and were fine with letting me post my version first.

So hey, if you don't like it my reading, be reassured that at some point you can probably expect a better one. :)

I had a lot of fun recording this! It was difficult not to crack up trying to say some of the lines and reading the articles in the appropriately annoying netspeak. (Pretty sure my neighbors think I read the internet out loud now.) And I kind of love channeling Bradley James' voice. Especially when he is saying things like "The Prince of Wales does not molest children!"

For the full experience, you should also head over to the original story and see all the amazing artwork that is interspersed with it because the images add a lot, and there is some detail there that didn't necessarily make it into the main podfic. Also, it is all gorgeous.

Finally, a reminder! You have up until 12pm EST on Wednesday to bid on a podfic up to 10,000 words from me over at [livejournal.com profile] help_haiti. I will read you pron or whatever suits your fancy for a good cause! The smoking hot sextras from this series are mostly under 10,000 words. Wink wink, nudge nudge. :D

Oh my god. OH MY GOD.

I had heard that this was being done, but for some reason I thought I'd have to wait, like, another YEAR before it was finished!

THANK YOU SO MUCH. =D *gleefully downloads* I'll comment again once I've listened!

Man, I am so very glad that I have [livejournal.com profile] amplificathon in my life, because otherwise I never would have found this amazing fic, or your reading of it. I just spent the last three hours reading that opus, an it was AMAZING. *huggles it* I can't wait to hear you read it!

I listened to this with much glee today -- thank you so much for recording it! You're absolutely great with intonation, and with dialogue, and this recording do what all the best podfics do for me, which is make me tune in so that I catch every killer phrase and line I might otherwise miss. Thoroughly delightful, and the overlapping media coverage at the end is brilliant in both idea and execution.

Thank you so much for recording this story, it's one of my all time favorites, and you definitely did it justice. Your voices and reading were so pitch-perfect, I went back to see what else you have recorded, because it was SO GOOD! Funny, and affecting, but not sentimental at all. Really, wonderful job, and I'm glad you were persistent about recording it because it so deserved it. In fact, you've inspired me, I think I'll try some making some Merlin podfic next...

I just listened to this podfic yesterday and loved it! You have such a natural reading style, it's a joy to listen to you for long podfics. This one was such a dream to listen to--you have a knack for the affectionate/obnoxious banter between these two, especially, and you really bring them to life here. Great podfic!

You just kept me company during a four-hour drive, thank you! I was trying to put into words what I liked about your voice, but I think "natural reading style" as the commenter above said captures it pretty well. Loved the banter and the more emotional bits and the ONTD stuff. :-)

I ADORED what you did with the ending, all of the media voices overlapping each other. And just in general, this was a fantastic reading of THE BEST STORY EVER:D

Finally listened to this and it was the loveliest distraction while I was cleaning ALL the things this weekend! (My flat is tiny, but my attention span whilst doing chores is extremely miniscule, so it actually did take 4.5 hours...) It's a lovely reading! And I really liked how you had all the news stories overlapping at the end, that was a nice note to end on. ♥
