Podbang and me...
Dec. 23rd, 2009 08:57 pmThanks:
I want to thank the author of the Woobie 'Verse,
I want to thank, from the bottom of my heart, the person that read for me (and, as it turned out, the person that I was reading for!),
gblvr. I haven’t even heard it yet (gonna do so while I clean house and wrap presents this evening - can't WAIT!), but I know I will love it and I appreciate all the work and love that went into it - THANK YOU (((((((hug)))))))) and Merry Christmas (or other winter holiday of your choice).
Thanks to SueN, who gave prompt and enthusiastic permission to record her fabulous fic, "In for A Peso, In For a Pound". The prose was so clean and elegant, it practically read itself. I wish I had had a little more time to redo a few things and add some sound effects. I feel the lack of horse sounds and gun shots VERY KEENLY. Hey - check out all of her great fic at her site.
And thank you,
nikojen, for introducing me to Chris, Buck, Vin, Ezra, JD, Josiah, and Nathan.
I want to thank the mods. Getting my two contributions out the door has been a challenge, and I can’t even imagine the challenge you all undertook to promote, organize, encourage, administrate, track, assemble, and post all the stories from this challenge. I hope it will not be the last one. Thanks for providing the perfect impetus for me to get off my duff and get busy. Count on me in the future!
Luv 'n Hugs

Date: 2009-12-24 05:51 am (UTC)The mods have done something I can't even begin to imagine. Now that I understand at least a little more about how podfic works, I hope I can contribute more next time in the way of mod-assistance.
Also, have you noticed how Podbang is making audiofic explode? It's wonderful! With all these long stories to choose from, people who didn't bother with podfic before are jumping on it now.
It's just altogether awesome!

Date: 2009-12-24 04:40 pm (UTC)I'm all for more audiofic - that's the great thing about a challenge - it encourages people to start producing, and attracts new people to enjoy the fruits of their labors.
It certainly jump-started me - I now know that it's not as difficult as I had built it up to be, and there are a LOT of podfics that I want to download and listen to. I'm looking forward to getting back to the microphone to record some of those long-overdue fics that I got permission to record so long ago!
I am, without a doubt, a lot more excited about podbang than I am about Christmas this year.

Date: 2009-12-24 06:19 pm (UTC)Hee! I kind of am too! Well, they've become very conflated in my mind, and everything is so festive and celebratory! I hope you DO get back to some of those promised fics. I'm building a list in my mind of long, long fics that I'd like to tackle. Like you, once I learned some of the tricks of the trade, the process became less daunting, and now I love to spend an hour of my evening reading a chapter.
