Okay so first a small preface to explain this project. I have this great group of friends, in the past when we've gotten together we've read fanfic (generally crackfic to be precise) aloud and found it hilarious. It was then suggested that we record our endeavors thus Fangirl Productions was born.

"Ensemble" means we're passing the fic around, one person per paragraph, if there's a specific reader for the story I'll cite them, and the rest of us are the background. These are largely unedited recordings (except for when, we stopped for the telephone to ring, or what have you, those pauses are edited out as possible) so all verbal-typos are intact, with all the laughing included. So it's part one part comedy/gag reel, one part laughter, and one part stories you know and love.

OK, I haven't listened to any of these yet, but I have to say, the idea that someone (or, in this case, a group of someones) would make a podfic of Misha's Twitters is totally awesome :D

I think the moral of this post is that crack!fic is infinitely better when shared with a friendly audience. I was laughing all down the street in the pouring rain, my headphones and MP3 player tucked away out of sight, looking like a complete loon while listening to High Minded.

That you were about to burst out laughing so often was half the fun of it and totally appropriate to the genre. Your friend is right, you should record more often, if you enjoy reading.

I saw the new Fangirl Productions post go up; excellent choice in "Trying to Communicate", though I haven't had the chance to listen in yet. More fandoms should have lolcats crossovers.

Okay, before I attempt to archive these, I need to clarify something: the ones that say, for instance, "Fangirl Productions (dreamwaffles)", does that mean that dreamwaffles should be credited separately from Fangirl Productions (ie: both dreamwaffles and Fangirl Productions), or instead of (ie: dreamwaffles is part of Fangirl Productions but in this case, just credit dreamwaffles)?

Honestly I'm not sure. I'm posing the question to dreamwaffles, but my guess would be you'd credit both. We were all part of creating the recording, but she was reading and we were the laughter, ergo she's the lead actress and we're the bit parts that make it a full play? Dunno how you'd credit that. So my guess would be credit to both, or if you could have a fangirl productions page and have dreamwaffles be credited as the reader on it? I agree this is entirely confusing... As soon as I have an answer from dreamwaffles, nianeyna and brainmissing I will tell you.

Okay so I spoke with both Dreamwaffles and Nianeya and it has been requested that you could archive it to both names, if that's possible and if not to specific names when listed, and the "project" name when ensemble, the idea behind this that if someone goes to the fangirl productions page they'll see everything done by all of us, but the individual authors will also get separate credit. If this is impossible, I totally understand, in which case crediting them separately and only including ensemble under fandom productions would be the fallback. I agree that the Twitter reading doesn't fit under the scope of the archive as we are not Misha Collins and haven't asked is permission therefore without author's permission it's ineligible anyways (aside from the fact that it's really not podfic exactly...).

Yes, we can archive it to both names, as in fangirl productions + specific name. That's what you mean, right? Or do you mean that fangirl productions does not get credit when a specific reader is listed? (sorry, sorry, it's been a long day and I am not firing on all cylinders, apparently)

Also, I had the feedback to reader link going to this amplificathon post, but is there a journal or something associated with this project (or is your reference to 'the fangirl productions page' this post right here)?

I apologize immensely for being confusing/unclear. You're first understanding. Fangirl Productions +specific name would be accurate. When I was referring to page I was referring to the page in the archive...here is the only page it's posted, so no there is no specific journal or anything...though that might be an idea if we continue to do this...but for now, just this page and your first understanding is correct. Sorry for all the little finagling of details, and thanks for being so patient/helpful!

Sorry, I should have made it more clear the purpose of the recording. We debated not posting them for this reason, being that some people wouldn't appreciate the recording style, but as we'd done it for fun for ourselves we figured we'd give it a shot. So far some people have liked it and others haven't, which is about what was expected. I'll try and make it more clear as to the nature of the recording in the future. I hope you enjoyed reading the story at the authors site. I also believe there is another podficcer working on it, so hopefully they'll have posted soon so you can hear a less raucous version.
