Summary Jensen's life isn't perfect, but he's happy enough. He has friends (well, one friend and one roommate), a prospective career (if he can pass this stupid, stupid test which requires him to be able to talk to people), a sex life of sorts (with guys who are total jerkfaces and think Jensen is a dork, which is actually true), and a life-size Dalek costume with a voice modulator which lets him EXTERMINATE things (like the toaster). Then, out of nowhere, he also has Jared (gorgeous, wonderful, socially retarded, and already taken), and his life turns upside down in the blink of an eye. For the first time, Jensen has found what he wants, but how is he going to get it?


This is the longest thing I've ever recorded! It's such an adorable fic, especially for a Mcshep-Doctor Who-J2 loving fangirl like myself.

Yay, you finished the Dalek costume fic. I can't believe how fast you've recorded this. No wonder you were a little fed-up with how long it takes to record and edit podfic. This is both totally adorable and SMOKING HOT, with the added bonus of "hey, they are RIGHT HERE" AND nerdy fun times! I think I may have giggled inappropriately at my desk whenever one of them said "EXTERMINATE" and grinned like a loon the rest of the time. You win the internet!

Yay! I think it's maybe my new favourite thing I've recorded (though I'm still very pleased with 'After the Tone') though really, Elle did all the hard work, I just read it!

The Dalek noises killed me in the fic. I did play about with layering the sound to get reverb, but in the end decided to just go with my voice, untreated.

I will say it took a little bit of getting used to the way you say "says", but I'm used to it now and in fact it's part of the charm. :)

Oh no,no,no -don't be paranoid. /o\ I didn't mean for that.

I'm so used to hearing it pronounced "sez" (I'm not sure how to write it) and not as, well, it probably should be said.... "says". Weird I know, but please, please do not be paranoid about it. There's nothing wrong with it, just different. :D

I love your reading of this story. This is a case of the reader making the story, in my opinion, because your voice work really brought out the humor of dorky!Jensen and I laughed out loud at your Dalek voice.
