Love this story!

I'm very much looking forward to hearing your version (it was also read by [livejournal.com profile] sadcypress). I do adore alternate readings; they tend to each bring something new and unique to the table--pardon the pun.

Podbook?

Great! I'm working on a cover now.

It will be done soon: would you like to just add it to your post?

Here's your URL: http://www.sendspace.com/file/1151qi

Are you crossposting to [livejournal.com profile] motelwincest? If so, the spnnewlsetter will pick it up from there. :-)

Oh, hey, a great story to record! And I love hearing different readers do the same story. :D

Every job has its boring repetitive tasks, and one of my favorite ways of getting through mine is podfic. I listened to this story this morning and drew some strange looks from my co-workers for all the chuckling and laughing out loud. It's a very funny story to begin with, but your reading of it was so well done and the timing so perfect, it made the story even funnier to listen to than it was to read.

Warning, pitch to follow!!! I am planning to start a new podfic community to post Supernatural "podzines." Basically, anthologies of stories by different authors on similar themes. My cohort roque_clasique and I are preparing our first "issue" before we open the community. Its theme is gen third-party POV fic. We are very flexible with regard to the themes and types of stories we will include--gen, het, slash, SPN, J2--although we will probably keep some of the categories separated for folks who only want gen or only want wincest, etc. We are still pulling together some of the details. One thing we want for sure, however, is to enlist other readers to help us with the podficcing. Nobody is going to want to listen to just roque or me all the time! Our readers will, of course, get to weigh in on themes and stories and what they would or would not like to read. I really like your voice and reading style, so what do you say? Would you be interested in reading for us from time to time?

Either way, I hope you do a lot more podficcing as I think you do a really great job of it.

Wow, that was fast!

Roque and I had picked a bunch of fic for this first issue, but we have been struggling a bit getting some of the permissions. A couple of the people we asked just haven't responded. Which would make it totally cool if you were to add a fic or two to the mix! The first story you mentioned appears to be J2 and we are going to stick with SPN gen for this issue (hold that thought for later). But the other two fit the bill perfectly. I have actually read both of those and hadn't thought about them in a while. Accidents Will Happen is a great story and would be perfect for you to read with your good timing for comedy. And of course innie_darling rocks. Do you think you would be able to get permission easily from either one or both authors to podfic the stories, or would you like me to try? If we get permission, I would especially love for you to read "Accidents Will Happen." You can certainly read both if you want to. The other fic we have picked for this issue that we have permission to use so far are:

She Pick Her Way Down that Path - by pdragon76 (this is very short and intense and I've already recorded this one)
Parental Instincts - by dodger_winslow
Modulus of Rapture - by i_speak_tongue
That's Me in the Spotlight - by vorpalblades (roque is in the process of recording this one)
Just Another Kid - by bad_peppermint
Tryin'a Make a Livin and Doin the Best I Can - by roque_clasique, a one-shot from her Drive 'verse (roque will read this herself)
He's Not a Man Who Misses Much - by riverbella (and I will read this one myself)

Two others we are trying to get are:

The Future's So Bright (I Gotta Wear Shades) - by kroki_refur (refur is a good friend of mine, but she's out doing field work a lot and is hard to reach; I'm keeping my fingers crossed because I love this story)
The Idea of an Island - by eighth_horizon (aka gekizetsu) roque is trying to reach her and I hope she succeeds because I adore this one, too

I know it probably seems a little self-indulgent to add in our own stories. This probably won't happen often. But my outside POV story is by far the one I've written that got the most favorable comments and, well, roque's is from Drive 'verse and that's all that needs to be said!

Anyway, let me know about getting permission from holli and innie_darling and whether you would like to read those two or if something else from the list appeals to you. Mp3 format is what we will collect, and we will podbook the stories as well. (We're working on our technical expertise and getting help from folks like cybel and twasadark.)

We are planning to call the community spn_podzines, and animotus, who does awesome graphics, has promised to help us out with some art work.

As you can probably tell, I'm really excited about this--even moreso because we are getting enthusiastic participation from other awesome folks!

Thanks,
'Bella

Excellent job with the podfic, I'm very impressed! I'm learning myself how to podfic, and yours is a great example.
