Just wondering... Have other people had difficulty getting Megaupload to, you know, actually upload their podfics? Or am I just special that way?

They've revamped their website since I last used it and I fumbled around for a while till I figured it out. But I tried several times to upload and it said it did it 100%, but never displayed the link, which was supposed to be in the middle of the page. The last time I tried I left it alone for a good forty minutes, thinking it would connect and do something, but nah, it didn't do anything. I gave up for the night,in case something is screwed up with the website, and will try again tomorrow.

But I would appreciate knowing if this is a fluke or not.

Laurie

Do you use the Megamanager app? It solves almost all my problems.

You might try using mediafire or sendspace instead, I find them easier to use (and usually much faster uploads and downloads).

I use mediafire for my podfic and also for work. I haven't had any problems with them so far and I've been using mediafire for awhile now.

as someone who downloads, i like mediafire because it allows multiple simultaneous files downloading. sendspace and mu only allow one at a time. box allows three.

I don't know enough technology to actually figure out why, but if my computer is "tired" this will happen both at MU and at Sendspace. Restarting the computer always works for me.

Also, the multiple file uploader on the new MU design seems to work better for me, even on a single file

I've had this problem with MU before. Sometimes it will just get shirty about a particular file and refuse to finish uploading it no matter what. Turning the file into a .rar archive usually solves the problem.

One thing I have had happen is that, even though the file appears not to have finished loading, it will mysteriously appear in my file manager later. Sometimes more than once.

While I have had good experiences with the MU toolbar for Internet Explorer, the Firefox toobar has tended to screw with Firefox and the separate MegaManager program likewise has ended up being difficult to deal with, causing files to be mysteriously mis-named, giving back numerous uploading errors, and in general being a processor-sucking pain.

All kinds of problems arise if you're short on hard disk space. It may be worth your getting an external hard drive and freeing up some more space on your computer.
