But Sheppard didn't trust himself not to destroy what he loved most. And somewhere along the line, amid the terror and chaos of the Expedition's first year in the Pegasus Galaxy, what Sheppard loved most had become Rodney McKay.
McKay didn't trust anyone. As soon as you started trusting people, you started counting on them, depending on them, and that was when you became vulnerable. And vulnerable things didn't survive. So just when, exactly, had he started trusting Sheppard?

'Aegis' was my top pic for the 06 Big Bang and I was ridiculously happy someone had recorded it! I'm only about 3hrs into this podfic, but I don't want to forget to say a HUGE thank you for the effort that obviously went into recording this mammoth fic. I'm loving listening to it - sure makes doing housework that much more bearable!

I don't suppose you've given any thought to recording the sequel?! That would be awesome too...

Wow, thank you! I'm so honored. Your point about it being two long files is a good one. At the time the amount of space I had on my computer wouldn't let me create the extra files to break it out into smaller pieces but as I now have an external that might be a good project for the next weekend I have some time. I hope you enjoy the rest of it. Thank you!

Oh wow, that would be *amazingly awesome*! Right now I've resigned myself to listening to it at home whilst doing chores because I can more easily control position within the file, but it would be nice to have it more portable. And I'm sure the rest of the podfic will be as awesome as the first part :)
