oh, wait, probably i should comment as me to compliments. will do that in a mo'.
point one: yep. "rarity" is set in stone at the beginning. so never fear.
point two: dude. oh yes. very much there will be a point value for length, in graduated measures. that was pretty obvious to us even before i posted the poll (and i will be posting about poll results tonight or tomorrow, stay tuned). that said, 1) short fics are valuable as a way in for new readers, and 2) i am very confident (as in, there's evidence) that no one recorded batches of short fics out of poor sportsmanship, but rather out of enthusiasm. if we had begun with a minimum length rule, i think we would have lost quite a number of fics, and i wanted to err on the side of encouraging more, no matter the size. we were overwhelmingly unwilling to change the rules/points policy in the middle. at least partly because that seemed like it might imply that the mods thought there was hinkiness. which we really don't. anyway. you are not the first to say it, and i am seeing people say it quite a bit in their own ljs, so. you can be confident that it will happen. (other suggestions are also welcome, via poll, comment, or email to any of the mods or the audmod at gmail account, btw, in case you have anything less diplomatic to say.)
we are planning several anthologies, and one will be a collected podficlets podbook, which should also be helpful to downloaders.
