[personal profile] luzula posting in [community profile] amplificathon
Here's my first contribution to [livejournal.com profile] amplificathon! As I understand it, a mod will see this post and upload the file to the archive, is that right? Or do I need to email them?

Title: Not To Yield
Author: Kass
Fandom: Shackleton (tv series)
Pairing: Shackleton/Hurley
Rating: R
Format: mp3, 128 mbps
Length: 19:34 minutes, 17.92 mb
Download: at Sendspace, or at the archive: right click and download. [livejournal.com profile] cybel also made a podbook with a gorgeous cover made from a photograph from the expedition (you can see the cover down among the comments). Download the book at the archive: right click and download.
Notes: So, this is basically RPS about Antarctic explorers in the beginning of the 20th century. You don't need to know anything about Shackleton beforehand to read/listen to it (I didn't, when I read it). It's written as Shackleton's journal entries, and the rhythm of the language is just lovely--I really enjoyed recording it. The slash is wonderfully understated (and not explicit). Thank you kindly to Kass for letting me record it!

Ooh, reading private mail. Shame!

I thought I'd use one of Hurley's photos of the ship for the cover, rather than looking for caps from the show. I'll post it here when done, which shouldn't be long.

::swoon::

I love Hurley's photos. (As you might imagine.) So that seems absolutely perfect to me.

Utterly stunning. That image, omg!

(er -- one tiny edit, if I may; I think the text says "Hurley Dairy" when it ought to be "Hurley Diary"? Otherwise, glorious!!!)

LOL! I didn't even notice. I just snapped that bit off a webpage as a jpeg. I'll get in there and see about fixing it.

This better? I left the 'satisfactory' instead of 'satisfactorily' on the assumption that this is what the diary actually reads. I can go in and fix it, though, if you'd prefer, since the layer is now actual text instead of a jpeg.

*grin* Now there's the response I was hoping for!

Okay, then, I'll upload and post you guys the URL here. Were you okay with the posting to [livejournal.com profile] podslash? I'll of course include all credits and a link back here to the podfic.

Thank you for letting me make it! I'm glad I finally got to do a cover for you; The Course and Four Virtues came with their own, and I've never seemed to catch up on your other podfics. I'll get there eventually, though, even though the response to [livejournal.com profile] amplificathon has overwhelmed me more than a bit!

On the bright side, I'm much better at making covers now than I used to be, so when I do more for you, hopefully you'll like them. Not To Yield turned out especially well, though. It pretty much made itself, and the result gave me a lot of pleasure.

I don't think I've read it. Can you send me the link?

I may just skim the story and wait for the podfic. I hadn't read much F/K in years until Zabira started reading, but I've never lost my love of the characters and the pairing. It's not like reading DS is a hardship, after all!
