Here's my first contribution to
amplificathon! As I understand it, a mod will see this post and upload the file to the archive, is that right? Or do I need to email them?
Title: Not To Yield
Author: Kass
Fandom: Shackleton (tv series)
Pairing: Shackleton/Hurley
Rating: R
Format: mp3, 128 mbps
Length: 19:34 minutes, 17.92 mb
Download: at Sendspace, or at the archive: right click and download.
cybel also made a podbook with a gorgeous cover made from a photograph from the expedition (you can see the cover down among the comments). Download the book at the archive: right click and download.
Notes: So, this is basically RPS about Antarctic explorers in the beginning of the 20th century. You don't need to know anything about Shackleton beforehand to read/listen to it (I didn't, when I read it). It's written as Shackleton's journal entries, and the rhythm of the language is just lovely--I really enjoyed recording it. The slash is wonderfully understated (and not explicit). Thank you kindly to Kass for letting me record it!

Date: 2008-04-25 09:38 pm (UTC)A handful of the phrases in the story came from Shackleton's actual diary, so I tried hard to make the tone of the story match the lines I'd borrowed from him. Hearing you read it, it all sounds like poetry, which makes me so happy.
Thank you SO MUCH!
