random cheerleady posting

hey, so i was thinking that there hadn't been a random cheerleading type post in...days, at least. a week? it's all blurring together.

i just can't say it enough, though, so even if it was yesterday: i am floored, i continue to be floored by the quantity, quality, and variety of stuff that everyone is posting. yay.

so i'm sitting here, making archive entries (which is the sort of job where you make a lot of typos, by the way. so please let me take this opportunity to say that if you notice one, please do not hesitate to point it out. i feel less stupid when they are caught early), and thinking things like "fullmetal alchemist podfics YAY!" and then things like "huh, is that because i mentioned fma a couple of times in the rules?" but then i think "wait but i mentioned m*a*s*h, too, and there's none of that yet. hmmm. or perhaps there is and i've forgotten? probably not; those asterisks are a pain in the ass, i would probably remember them."

anyway. this all leads me to want to make a poll, but: no formal poll ability, here. so i'm just going to ask.

a ton of new fandoms have podfic in the archive now. and it is all very yay! but which fandoms are you sad haven't shown up yet? which are you secretly hoping will turn up?

(this is not a trick where you say "ooh! i would love it if someone recorded some x-files!" and then we say "okay dude GO RECORD IT you are tagged." i'm just thinking probably some of us might be thinking, "oh, nobody would want to listen to square pegs fic other than me..." and this is our chance to bring that person out of the woodwork!)

okay, i'll go first. i would really love to see a couple of comic book fandoms turn up. not just their movie'verses. maybe some dcu?


and, while we're aimlessly wishing, i would also like more hours in the day, so i could record some more. :(

This is kind of more of a flipside thing...

I was entertaining doing some of my Hornblower stuff. Would anyone want to have that? It's a pretty small fandom to begin with.

If anyone else were to want to Hornblower (especially Horatio/Archie) or Master and Commander (Jack/Stephen) I'd totally love you. :)

I would *love* to hear some Project Runway or six degrees of Tim Gunn fic (Tim Gunn and Veronica Webb are *so* a superhero duo) on my walks to work in the morning. Like, a lot.

Also, I have a weakness of Alfred/Lucius Batman Begins fic. There's not much out there that I've found, but if someone recorded some good ones, they'd make my prepping-for-the-summer-movie-season period.

ETA: I'd love to see more femslash, period.

Funny you should mention comic books, because I'm in the process of editing an X-Men thing.

But, in terms of fandom? The world needs more podifc of:
Star Trek: (any series, dude, COME ON internet you have FAILED ME)
Farscape (FTW)
Star Wars (see ST above)
Fruits Basket (Because I'm lonely in the fandom club)
Count Cain/Godchild (A little more obscure, but I'm totally going to do this eventually, too)

I would love some Grey's Anatomy femslash. It doesn't even have to be Cristina/Meredith, even though they are clearly MFEO. Also, there could stand to be more Psych in the world. Also Fastlane.

Also, in terms of typos, Crichton/Gilina as a pairing label is misspelled, too many h's.

There are so many great Pros stories available online now. It was such a huge fandom in its day, it's a shame not to have it well represented in the Archive. Same, of course, with K/S!

4colorheroines -- much gen, het and femslash focused on female DCU characters.

comica_obscura -- Comic fandom's version of Yuletide, with fic about many obscure characters from DC, Marvel and indie comics.

There's also dcfic_index if you're looking for fic about a specific character or pairing.

What Waldo said about HH. It is an ickle fandom and could do with some more love.

Likewise, there are buckets of DW fics about, unfortunately quite a few hew to Sturgeon's Law, but there must be some that could make the cut.

And I'm sure I've seen some fic at rarelitslash that could make for some fascinating podfics.
