 Orpheus and Eurydice

Title: The Gods Must be Crazy Playwrites (Right?)

Reader/Writer: fresne

Fandom: Sherlock BBC, Greek Mythology

Pairings: Sherlock/John (aka Orpheus/Eurydice), for that matter Lestrade/Molly (aka Hades/Persephone (who is also Kore and Hecate), Jim/Sebastian (aka Jason/Hercules), Jim/Irene (aka Jason/Medea)

Series: Variations on an Equation series, this is a series of Omegaverse stories that AU each other. Each story offers a variation on a gender pairing of Sherlock/John as male, female, alpha, omega, beta. This particular story is AlphaMale-Sherlock/Other-John.

Rating: NC-17

Size: 10.4, 29:49

Music Credit: Dance of Satyrs from... practically impossible to tell given the youtube entry - Ancient Greek Music, Macedonia is Greek.

Image Credit: Edward Poynter - Orpheus and Eurydice, with cough, some mods

Warnings: Omegaverse. Err...cracky, cracky mythology. Wait, myths generally are pretty cracky anyway. John's a hermaphrodite in the mythological sense, ie. two genders as a result of being descended from Aphrodite and Hermes. There's... herm preg. Temporary death. Consensual (if not entirely on the same page) BDSM.

Summary: Where it was a generally acknowledged truth among the Argonauts that there was truly only one gender. Jason was the one who understood this, which was an opinion he expressed at length.
It should also be understood that during long sea journeys such as the Argonauts underwent,  there wasn't much to do at night but look at the stars, discuss natural philosophy, or fornicate with each other.
