Wow this was great. The song to bookend it and the running water you had in the background! I decided to read along to the words of the original fic as I listened to this - my first and only experience with this fic was both reading and listening at once, FYI, which is an unusual method to read fic/unusual method to listen to podfic, I assume, but I really am enjoying it. Podfic is a really new thing to me but I loved this one of yours so much. You clearly put a lot of effort into this. I want to try my hand at my own podfic, but I worry I'll be too bad at it.

Hey, thanks so much! Music and especially sound effects can be difficult to pull off, so it means a lot when someone let's me know I got it right.

Listening and reading at the same time isn't all that unusual, for what it's worth. Amazon has a thing called Whispersync which is designed exactly for that. People do it for various reasons, but one is that their English isn't great, and this helps them get all the meaning out of it, but there are others.

As for doing podfic yourself, there really isn't a way to go wrong. Like anything, it takes effort and practice. I've learned so much in the last few years. Listening to my early work makes me cringe now. If you really want to, you should just go for it!
