Sorry for the delay! I've been distracted by the kitten that moved into our yard the other day and insisted on being lovely and adorable and not going away. I swore off giving in to such tactics after my old girl died recently (yeah, right, since this is how I always end up with a new cat, a habit that goes back over 35 years now!).

I finally brought her in yesterday, worried that my 3 boy cats would give her grief. Nope, they are all 3 charmed, including the boy who still won't let us touch him after 2 ½ years. Sigh.

Anyway, finally checked my mail, so:

My 15 year old tortoiseshell girl died a few months ago (the girl before her was also a tortie), and this little girl deliberately chose to be a tortie, too. I'm sure it was all a cunning plan on her part.

You can't tell from this pose, but she's very skinny. She's been eating us out of house and home since she showed up. Luckily, since the boys are finicky eaters I've a bunch of cans of cat food that have been going to waste. No longer: Lola will eat anything.

She is a looker, no doubt. Funny face, though, mottled on one side and totally black on the other, with one black ear and one orange. That's one of the things I love about torties: no two look anything alike.
