Oh, I had thought I got 1 point for HP fandom and 1 point for the relationship of Severus and Remus (gen or whatever).


Also, I think I said I shouldn't get points for Almost Human being a new fandom, but I'm not sure that is true because the first podfic for AH might have been introduced during amplificathon, not that it matters because I'm not winning any prizes for points here :D

Can you provide the link to the Almost Human post you're talking about? I found one where you claimed 30 but I'm not sure if that's the one you meant since you had mentioned that you had claimed 60?

You should be basing your points for every podfic on this FAQ. It doesn't matter whether the fandom or pairing has been introduced during amplificathon, only whether or not it shows up on this page, as this is the list of every fandom/pairing/gen fandom that was present in the archive before the 'thon.

Doing a search on the page for Almost Human, it comes up as a fandom, but doesn't come up as gen. So the fandom would be 5 points, and depending on what your relationship is it could be 5 or 10 points (Dorian/John Kennex, for example, *is* on the list so it's a 5 point pairing).

Just a pedantic question, do I get 21 or 22 points for the Time Traveler's Wife/HP crossover? I honestly do not care about the points, I just feel so awful that I've screwed the points up so many times. /o\ I am hoping to do better next year. Thanks for trying to sort these out with me!

So you had changed a 60 point Almost Human podfic to 30 points? Is it this one?

I'm confused about the Harry Potter/Time Traveler's Wife one. If a story has a pairing it's inherently not gen, so no you can't claim any gen points for Harry Potter as a fandom (which btw would be 5 points, not 1). You've only listed one pairing, and Remus/Severus isn't it. Should there be two pairings? If the only pairing is Henry/Clare then it's 21 points, as per my first comment.

That is correct, regarding the Almost Human podfic. The points are right, as far as I can tell.

Ooooh. I didn't list Severus and Remus as characters? Hm, I wonder if that's because the author didn't list them. It's one point. I don't care. Just trying to figure out the system. Thanks.

The Almost Human podfic post lists:

fandom - Almost Human
pairing - Dorian/John Kennex
pairing - Dorian/OFC

You should get points for all of these things. So using the list of fandoms and pairings to determine the points, they would be:

(5 Almost Human + 5 Dorian/John Kennex + 10 Dorian/OFC) x 3 = 60

For the HP/Time Traveler's Wife podfic, what you have listed is:

fandom - Time Traveler's Wife
fandom - Harry Potter
pairing - Henry/Clare

You indicated that characters from Harry Potter appear in the podfic, but you don't get extra points just because of that. You get points for relationships only. From the FAQ, the example that matches this podfic is:

"an arrow/hunger games, oliver queen/felicity smoak story would earn 20 points. five for each fandom, ten for pairing."

This is a crossover between two fandoms that only has a relationship between characters from one fandom (Arrow). This gets points for the two fandoms, and also points for the pairing, but it doesn't get any extra points for Hunger Games, whether there are characters from the books appearing in the story (a true crossover) or whether it uses significant world elements from Hunger Games but only uses characters from Arrow (a fusion).

I'm really not sure where the misunderstanding is, so unless you can walk me through your process for calculating your points, the best I can do right now is point you at the FAQs (especially this one).
