amplificathonhey everybody in podficland! this is the FINAL WEEK of amplificathon, and you know what that means, right?
well, mostly it's a remark on the linear nature of time, or at least, the linear nature of our perception of time.
BUT. in this particular context, it means that if you haven't posted in the fest yet this year, and you post now, you are going to win the fashionably late award!
it also means that for those of you who like to ~~strategize, there are a few other awards still within reach:
- there is currently no one in the running for the ampliplanet award. /meaningful look at highly international group of podficcers.
- it means if you're angling to win the blipvert award, 9 seconds is the time to beat. OR IS IT UNBEATABLE?
- it means that the top four podficcers in the points standings could change position if one of them manages 500 more points (this is possible if they planned ahead! or found something longish in an esoteric fandom written in a non-english language. or something. reena_jenkins, litra, and fresne may LOOK unstoppable, but they're human, right? ...right?
- it means the supersampler award could be sniped at any point up to the end of the fest. currently one participant has introducedthree four new fandoms, five have introduced two, and three have introduced one. ANY ONE OF THEM COULD WIN. or, if you're crafty, you could win! even if you start right now.
- it means that i'm pretty sure the lindworm award is going to a podfic that clocks in at 8:47:36 right now. but i wouldn't be shocked if one of you posted something even longer and snatched away the glory for yourself.
- it means i have no clue who is in the running for the whisky & lemon award, though i could make an educated guess. that ship may have sailed. but podficcers are all amazing, so i am also ready to be surprised. <3
- and of course, as usual, theampliplanet GMT -11 winner will be a mystery until the dust settles.
