Hope it turned out ok. I was sick for the majority of my recording time and my pop guard pooped out on me, so the quality's not as good as I'd like, but eh, what can ya do. It's been so long since I've posted something Sherlocky (or at all) that I decided to just go for it anyway. Hope you enjoy :)

Also: this fic contains some darker themes (apocalypse, references to suicide, etc.) so tread carefully if these sorts of things unnerve/trigger you.

Okay, so now that I've actually listened through, I wanted to let you know that the whole thing is brilliantly somber and moody, but the section where John is listening to Dr. Arthur Ryan's recording is absolutely amazing. Between your voice and the recording effect, it instilled such a sensation of dread. You could practically feel his panic. Gives me chills just thinking about it. Fantastic job!

Thank you so much, Jo :) I really wanted to take my time with the character voice and the effects for Ryan's section, as that was the part of the story I remember hitting me super hard with an intense mix of confusion and dread and sympathy when I first read it years ago, so I'm really glad it worked.

Oh yeah, jsyk I'm listening to your pod of When I'm 64 at the moment, and it's making me a very happy camper :)

ahahahah it does indeed (I'm assuming you mean Birds to a Lighthouse)!

I was in a major podslump, and this one kind of acted as my dam-breaker to get back into the swing of things, and I think it worked :)

I'm still working on the two big ones (Lighthouse and Infiltrate) and luckily I've got a bit more time to record these days because I'm working 100% from home now. Lighthouse is probably going to be next, then Infiltrate (which has apparently turned into my War and Peace, oy vey) ;)

Beautiful science fiction piece and marvelous production.
I can't help thinking, however, that the last bit is a delusional dream of John's right before death. A hope that somehow things can be changed that his mind moves to under stress.

Thank you, Aless! And yeah, that's one of my favorite things about this fic; how unsettling it is, and how it refuses to resolve itself and rather leaves it up to the reader to ponder :)
