Need help posting a streaming file to AO3

I don't know what I'm doing wrong, but I'm trying to post to AO3 a streaming file from Mediafire and it isn't working. It looks right when it's posted - I'm using the code that AO3 provides and filling in my file link from Mediafire - but when you click to play it, you don't hear anything. I made sure the volume is all the way up. I've used all the variations given on AO3, but none of them play. No solution comes up when I Google it.

Is there something wrong with the link to Mediafire? Or what? I feel like there's probably a simple solution, but I'm stumped.

I didn't think mediafire streams were embeddable (is that a word?) In any case, I've never successfully embedded one and have always used my own site to host the embedded version.
Not helpful, I know. But at least it's not just you?

Ahhh! It would have been helpful if AO3 said this in the post with the streaming code. Oh well. I'm glad to find out the explanation. Thanks.

Seconding colls -- it's MediaFire. Do you need it hosted somewhere else? I would be happy to stick it up on my website for you.

Oh, that's really nice of you to offer! I'm looking into creating my own website so I have a place to stick stuff. Should have done it a long time ago, but I thought it was something difficult, whereas it appears it's really easy. I'll let you know if I need to take you up on the offer. Right now I'm just linking to the Mediafire streaming audio.

I host all mine on mediafire, but use kiwi6.com to get a hotlink code for the streaming embed. Maybe try this?
