I dont usually do incest - like, at all? But the recent events of the Borgias have me in an incesty mood and the Holmes brothers>Winchesters in terms of interestingness plus long fic and interesting concept. Cant wat to hear what you did. I'm sure it will be great.

I saw this pop up on tumblr (since you're one of the very small group of people I follow :) but didn't know how to comment, and I have your AO3 post open for after I've listened to it! And weirdly, DW comments still seem the easiest way for me to comment, so here I am :)

I am so excited you used Arvo Pärt. I only found his work last year, and I've been waiting for a podfic where it'd be a perfect fit (sadly at the moment i mostly podfic NYC contemporary dudes and Marines...Supernatural would have been a good fit...or maybe if I find some longer Viking fic!!! :)

I'm amazed how many Germans we are, I never realized?! Perhaps I would have dared to podfic more easily, had I known.
When I started thinking about podficcing, I tried some shorter ones, but I feel the short ones are often so condensed and poetry-like, and I didn't dare because it felt like I could destroy the effect with one or two misemphasized words. A longer one felt more ...forgiving. And then I read this fic, and it really WANTED to be read aloud, more than others, bc of the pacing of the writing, somehow.

I don't know too many works of Pärt yet, but I fell in love with this one a long time ago, and it always resonated in my head when reading this fic. I'll take your comment as a recommendation to listen to more of him...!

Thank you for reading this fic. I quite enjoyed it (You were my introduction to Mycroft/Sherlock fic, and I was pleased with the results). I would love to hear you read the sequel. You mentioned concerns about your accent... Every once in a while you'd pronounce a word oddly enough that it made me pause, but for the most part your voice and speech patterns were very easy to listen to, and you recorded it well. And trust me, it was far, far better than listening to Sherlock read with a Texan accent.

You were brave to start with a fic this long... but my favorites are always the long fics that really sink you into the minds and hearts of the characters, so I understand why you chose what you did. Should I find the nerve, I will do the same. I congratulate you for finishing it.
