Date: 2013-03-26 06:33 am (UTC)So I was very relieved to find it on AO3 and if this podfic helps other people rediscover this awesome fic I'll be glad.
Thanks for taking the time to comment, I appreciate it :)

Date: 2013-04-01 09:42 am (UTC)OMG, thank you *so* much!
Date: 2013-04-02 01:17 pm (UTC)I *finally* got to finish listening to mine, and it's awesome! I love it! I'm squeeing!
I love your voice, and of course the accent is extra-awesome for Giles. If the Harry Potter people find you, they'll put you in a cage and make you do all theirs. I'd occasionally - very idly - thought about recording a fic, but my Australian accent wouldn't be good for anything.
I especially, especially loved the way you delivered, 'He wasn't serious. He was serious.' at the 55:30 mark, after the kiss. So perfect.
Thank you so much for picking Hands Down! I'm so honoured.
Dr Squidlove.

Re: Podfic feedback for you!
Date: 2013-06-20 08:11 pm (UTC)And, all the above would be true no matter who left the comment but the fact that it's you is just... fksgf!!! *flaily happy times* because I am such a fan of your work. You're kind of Podfic Royalty, even if only in my head.
I just listened to Eight Crazy Pilots Serenity Didn't Keep last night and I was just giggling to myself the whole time, especially the section on Starbuck, and then Bam! that ending, such a great bit of podfic.
Also, I only recently got into Stargate, so I'm currently in a very "All the John/Rodney!" mindset, even though there's a figurative mountain of podfic for the pairing, I'm just like "Must download all of it" and once again yours is truly spectacular. Pink Elephants made me burst out laughing so loudly at 3am that I was afraid I'd wake my family, just your succinct deadpan delivery of the line where John goes from thinking about flying to thinking about getting blown in the pilot's chair, so freaking perfect!
Then there's Play the Music, Light the Lights and The Best Things in Life are Blue which are both in my "Need cheering up after a bad day" podfic rotation because of the warm fuzzies they always provide, no matter how many times I listen.
When I decided to participate in Amplificathon this year I had a very similar “New Trek movie, must revisit ALL the fic” idea. Citylights was top of my LJ mems and I instantly remembered how much I loved the fic and knew I was going to ask to record it, so knowing that my podfic helped bring the story to a person who hadn't experienced it before makes it all worthwhile :-D
I understand your “Oh god, this fandom is massive” feels though, I think I was in Trek fandom for about six months after ST: XI came out and it was such a Fandom Hydra, for every fic I read another two had been posted and I was a latecomer to fandom to boot so I was going through rec lists while trying to stem the tide of new fic filling my f-list and that's not even getting into all the TOS fic... and then Glee happened and suddenly I was battling on two fronts, left with the choice to give up Trek, Glee or sleep, so I went with the 'new shiny fandom and the not-dying of sleep deprivation' option.
I'm so relieved to hear you praise my character voices since it's the thing I fret over most when I come to record and part of me suspects whatever good I achieved was mostly by accident but who knows, maybe that GCSE in Drama is finally paying off XD
On the topic of future works, I definitely plan to record more podfic and 8611 recently posted the next part of the City!Verse so... Watch this space.
And, I may or may not have downloaded this feedback for the days when I need a bit of a confidence boost, I'll never say... *shifty eyes* :-)
Re: Podfic feedback for you!
