OMG! I get a Mulder/Krycek story! Eeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee! My first slash fandom.
One of the limitations of the way Amplificathon is set up is that I can't think of any good way to leave feedback on an entry that will definitely reach the author AND be visible for others to see and get excited by. So I'm doing this three times, once as a PM and once each in the DW and LJ comms on the announcement post.
"Ghost" was FANTASTIC! I just portioned out the very last half hour of it, reluctantly letting it come to an end. Of course it's a fantastic story, one of the greats, but your reading truly is transformative. Your voice and style, and of course your choice of music (excellent use of music clip-as-POV-break, by the way--absolutely perfect) all brought out the moodiness of the story, a quality of quiet, relentless obsession. I feel like you found the very heart of the story, and it was an excellent fit with your voice and style.
I appreciated your character voices, too--the variety and consistency, particularly of the three main characters, made it perfectly clear who was speaking at all points, but you let the well-written dialog do most of the characterization for itself, which seems like a very good way to go.
This is a keeper for me. I know I'll listen to it again and again. Thank you so much for it.
OMG, that's like the nicest comment I've ever gotten. Thank you so much!!! I'm always uncertain about different voices (and three's definitely harder than having only the main pairing to worry about) but i like what you describe...distinguishable but letting the narrative and the writing mostly carry it. I'm so glad I managed to do that!
Thank you for your words! (and for posting it on both public forums!)
