shellbelleHi everyone! I’m a PhD student writing my dissertation on fandom (really, how freaking awesome is that?). I’m studying second language acquisition, and I’m interested in fans whose first language isn’t English. I think you guys are indescribably awesome, and I want to know more about how you got into English-speaking fandoms and how it affected your English learning/use. I'm posting here because, well, I adore podfic and it's so often unrecognized as a fan practice. I really want to bring some of these lesser-known (in academic circles, at least) activities to light!
