This is a sequal to Gerard Way's Vampire Detective Agency which is pretty much the fic that got me into bandom. If you want to listen to that, pandarus's lovely recording is here

Beta by dodificus, who once again, I appear to have asked to beta in a fandom she does not follow. She was wonderful, fast, patient and supportive. I can't say how much she improved this recording.

This is the second longest podfic I've ever recorded, and I had a lot of fun doing it. I love the worldbuilding in it, all the little touches that really immersed me in the story. As I recorded, I found I go so much more out of it, and loved different characters more. I didn't realise, on the first reading, just how much the female characters had to do, but by the end I just ADORED Greta. Ray and Bob were amazing (and I really hope I captured how scary Bob can be) and just, yes. It was a totally different experience performing the story than just sitting down and reading it. I love it even more, now.

One odd thing I noticed, and had to stop myself doing, was how much I'd been influenced by FayJay's reading of the first part of the series, "Gerard Way's Vampire Detective Agency". Fay has a very distinctive rhythm to her reading that I don't have, but it kept sneaking in. I think you can sometimes hear it in Frank's conversations with Dewees?

(The intro/outro music is "The Boys are too Refined" by The Hush Sound. Greta is such a part of the fic it felt right to use her music, and the lyrics made me smile : The boys who kiss and bite/they are the brilliant ones who speak and write/with silver luck. Of course, it's totally about Ryan, but I thought in the context of the fic it worked for Pete too.)

Anyway, that was a long ramble! I really how you enjoy the fic, and I'd really appreciate knowing what you thought!
