okay, can we just point out for a minute how awesome you all are? all the podbang participants and supporters and every single one of you, waiting for the posts? basically: everyone who can read this, you are totally making my day!
okay, a few notes as we verify our uploads and prepare to start posting:
- the podbang was plagued by disaster this year. pretty much everything that could go wrong for participants did go wrong. illness, lost voices, hardware issues, software issues, corrupt files, rl disasters, broken equipment, noisy lodgers, stolen equipment...everyone who signed up went to great lengths to make it work. some struggled to the bitter end! some will try again next year (or post when they can, outside of podbang).
- so. pinch hitting a podbang is a little...challenging. since the logistics of that only worked part of the time, we sadly had to swap a few recipients around. we apologize for this, but in the end, we decided it was more important that everyone who managed to contribute a gift got something back than to make sure everything went where originally intended. we did our best to match the original requester's preferences to the new recipients, and this should *mostly* be invisible to everyone but the person who did the recording. in some cases, there are dedications to the original recipient in the file. as podmod, i can tell you: no one signed up whimsically or withdrew randomly. everyone tried very hard, so if you receive something that you suspect was redirected to you, you can trust that your original reader agonized over the need to withdraw, because they didn't want to let you down! (odds are, a recording mysteriously close to your tastes will pop up at some point when your original reader finishes it, anyway.)
(last point removed for obsolescence at the moment of crosspost to Dth)

podmods also wish to remind you that should you desire to post, as encouraged, about your experience participating to podbang 2009, you're welcome to post to the Dth comm, or crosspost to it! Whee. :))
