are you an author who is cool with having people podfic your stories? feel free to post and say so! even if you don't intend to do any recording yourself! even if you do intend to record some yourself!

put a pointer to your stories in a post to the comm, and feel free to highlight a few - because they would score particularly highly for fandoms/pairings, or just because you would really like to hear someone read them aloud. if it's a long list, please remember to lj-cut. :)

please be clear about whether you are giving blanket permission, or if you want to hold some stories back. and (this is important!) please do not be sad if no one takes you up on it! there's no predicting what people will feel comfortable reading - there are a few stories by one author that i am dying to podfic, but the pacing is all wrong, i just can't make them work (just as an example). so.

when you post to call open season on your fic, please use the authors tag. we're working on making comm resources a little easier to find, and that will help!

have you seen the fandoms we're getting, here? ds9, major league baseball, fruits basket, qaf, lost, bsg, twelfth night, twin peaks, lotr, lotrps, wodehouse, sga, ds, spn, discworld, snow white, btvs, sg1, heroes, law & order, criminal minds... i want to give every single person everywhere on the internet (well, okay, not the jerks. but you guys! the awesome people!) a big (slightly stilted and poorly thought out) hug.

I’d love it if someone wanted to read some of my fanfiction. Most of my stories are short , in the 500-1500 words range.

A few stories I think you might have fun recording.

Helping Hands (Five Fingers Extended Mix) Farscape, John/D’argo, John/Rygel, John/Zhaan, John/Chiana, John/Gilina. This is either 6 or 18 points, depending on whether or not the mods give points for each new pairing introduced to the archive. This is a bunch of scenes from the first season of Farscape that didn’t happen, and includes some real extremes of emotion.

Get Next To You, Fastlane, Van/Deaq. 6 points. Fastlane was a television show mowed down before its time by Fox. (DVD is out this summer!) Think Miami Vice but more hip-hop with maximum color saturation. This story is about a case making Van think differently about Deaq. This one is longer than usual, about 4000 words.

Inanimate Fruit Grey’s Anatomy, Cristina/Meredith, 5 points. Meredith deals with the aftermath of Cristina’s not!wedding.

<ETA>The mod confirms that the Farscape story is indeed 18 points. And I just wanted to clarify, everyone may record any story written by zvi or WitchQueen.

Some of these are pairings not listed in the points list, so bonus points there (sadly, not as many as witchqueen's 18 point Farscape fic, though) and I would love you forever and ever if you were to read any of my fic, but I would dearly love to hear Watch Out For the Flowers read aloud.

Any of my SGA is fair game, but the Lorne/Zelenka fic will get the most at 4 points.

Any Harry Potter is up for grabs, with "Enough" (???/Lupin, Snape/Lupin) coming in at 5 points; the rest would be between 2 and 4 points.

Any of my CSI is up for grabs -- 4 points each, since they're all Gil/Greg.

My lone surviving Star Trek: DS9 story is worth 6 points!

And I have quite a bit of RPF/RPS (Popslash, Lotrips and Actor fic) that would net any where from 4-12 points each (I think).

I would love it if people chose to record any of my stories. They are all licensed Creative Commons, so as long as you credit and link back to the original story and don't make money off of them (*g*), do what you want-- even to the extent of changing things, as long as you note what you have changed. I've been recording a few of them but I don't mind even if you make separate recordings of stories I've already recorded, if you think you can make a good alternative interpretation. Please let me know you recorded it so I can host a copy of the recording on my site, as well.

I feel really egotistical doing this, but here we go!

If anyone wants to read anything written for Petshop of Horrors or Final Fantasy VIII, X/-2, and XII (I've written a few things in a few other fandoms - namely Saiyuki, Demon Diary, Resident Evil: Outbreak, and Phoenix Wright but those are my primaries), then I've posted lots at inkandkarma. Most of it's between 100-1000 words, although there are a couple that're longer. I was planning to record some of them myself, but I've not figured out a) how to stop my recordings hissing, and b) how to not sound like I'm reading the phonebook. ;)
