Okay, colour me well and truly charmed by Teen Wolf. I blame tumblr: over the past couple of weeks it's pretty much exploded over my dashboard and I have been sucked in despite myself, and now I've acquired a box set of season one alongside watching the first three episodes of season 2 as they air in the UK and spoiling myself silly. It isn't quite as gloriously scripted as a Whedon show, but tonally it's midway between Buffy and SUpernatural, and I really am loving it to death. It's not flawless (Boyd needs to get as much screen time & character development as Erica and Isaac, damn it, and I want moar Danny, or at least a boyfriend for Danny) but it's about a million times more inclusive than BTVS was, so that's something. Although I am just charmed to death by Derek/Stiles and have a reasonable sense of optimism that the show might actually go there in canon, I do love Scott to death, and Allison, and Lydia, and - basically this is shaping up to be my shiny new Happy Place, mmmkay?

There was a disheartening trawling-for-fic period, but now I have found Gyzym and Entanglednow and Jebiwonkenobi writing lovely fic, and my world is a brighter place. So, since I am Queen Of Procrastination, while I should have been packing to fly back to Bangkok, I made a short podfic instead.

“Derek’s seven the first time he flashes his bright blue eyes at strangers. They’re older kids and they’re trespassing and one of them says something rude to Laura and Derek’s vision turns red, just for a second, but they gasp and Laura grabs his arm, fingers digging in painfully.
“Before the kids can say anything, Laura starts swearing at them, using insults Derek has never even heard before and several he doesn’t fully understand and by the time she’s done they’re so stunned that they aren’t even thinking about Derek’s eyes anymore. She snaps at them to get lost, and they run….”


(quick quiz question: can anyone walk me through how one uploads podfic to the AO3, since that's what the kidz are doing these days?)

Hmm. For some reason when I did that last night it refused to load; do you just put an html link into the text box or was there more to it? Eh, maybe I stuffed up one of the other bits of the form - I'll go try again. :/ (...it WAS 2am, I guess, so...)

The link gives a permission denied error citing "This file has been identified as a copyright protected work and cannot be distributed using MediaFire". I don't know if it had to do with your file name or what, but thought you might want a heads-up. I can't wait to listen to this once I can download it!

I too get this notice, and would love to download the podfic, perhaps you could try hosting it somewhere else, or identifying it in a way that doesn't trigger mediafire to suspend it?

Well, bum! Colour me baffled; I'm in Asia and although I was getting the page you describe back in the UK yesterday, the page is fine today from here. Hmm. Traditionally i used to load things to Yousendit or Megaupload & Cybel uploaded them to Jimjurly's archive; Megaupload is gone now & Yousendit no longer lets free users upload large files (this is only 30 mins, but that was too big a file), so I thought I'd give mediafire a crack. Before posting links anywhere else i did send a link to Jinjurly with a request that somebody load ot to the AudioficmArchive - I know Cybel is no longer involved, so I didn't bug her this time.

Have you any suggestions for more reliable sites? :(

as people said downthread, box.com, there's also http://www.sendspace.com/, and you could talk to paraka about hosting on her server, she's offered that option up in the past, if I remember correctly. Good luck!

The file name was "Landscape after Cruelty" - the link seems to be fine again now and it says that a bunch of people have downloaded it successfully - I think it was just a glitch with Mediafire? Try again and tell me if it's still giving a permission error?

Just got it again. Cleared my cache and still got it. pi and I are both getting it and we're in the United States so it might be location based? I'm not sure why it would give two different messages.

I've noticed some people using box.com for downloads lately, but I've never actually gone onto the site to check it out so I don't know what their limits are.
