I have a couple more lined up. I've run into more authors who don't want their works recorded in my short time in GK fandom than in all my rather extensive experience in Supernatural, even though it seems to be quite a welcoming bunch on a personal level.

Yeah, that's funny. I've recorded a fair amount in GK, and I ran into one person there who said no, and that is basically the only such person I've ever run into.

I've talked to two in GK so far, and only one in SPN. Numbers-wise that doesn't seem like much, but considering the relative sizes of the two fandoms and the relative amount of time I've spent recording in each, it's pretty striking. But no worries...it's their prerogative and there is always a lot of good fic over many fandoms that never gets recorded; I just move happily on to the next one.

Oh, I agree. I just moved on the next fic in my to-podfic list--it's not like there's a shortage of good fic with authors who are happy for you to record it.

So good to hear! I'm a sarcastic bitch myself, quite prone to using words as a weapon, so I suppose it comes naturally to me. :D

I've fallen a little in love with the quality of writing in GK fandom, I must say, and Managing Expectations is a fine example of it. I told Alethia that there seems to always be that one fic you read when you're new to a fandom that just hooks you, makes you think, "Yeah, this place is for me" and Some Stay is that story for me in GK, I think.

I hope leaving a comment here 8 years after you posted these doesn't seem too weird. Or creepy. I just couldn't find another place where I could leave some feedback for your recording of 'Managing Expectations'.
I'm devouring all of your GenKill podfic, your taste in choosing stories to podfic is impeccable (and the quality of the writing in this fandom is just astounding) but 'Managing Expectations' is one of my favourite so far. Your Brad voice always amazes me, it's just perfect. Especially the snarkiest lines. As usual, you're brilliant at dialogue in general, not only Brad's, and this is very obvious in a fic like this, where there's so much of it, with many different characters and you handle it all perfectly.
