Summary: The first time was rather a surprise, the second time just plain predictable. The third was supposed to go much differently, thank you very much, and the fourth devolved into cliché. The fifth, moreover… well. Neither of them really wishes to talk about that one, if you don't mind.
Author's Notes: For serpenscript, who asked for a story in which Snape and Lupin are forced to work together during the war, leading to many fights and angry sex in multiple unusual places. The story is set the summer before OotP, but as requested, Sirius and Tonks are not mentioned – although they can easily be shaded into the background crowds for those who wish to.
Reader's Notes: I love Lupin's kindness, patience, gentleness, and compassion – but I also believe there's an edge of darkness in him that comes of his having lived as a werewolf for so terribly many years, and I love it when a writer plays with that. Frame it in humor, lots of sex, a touch of angst, and a little bit of kink, and I'm one very happy reader.

Reader's Notes: I wanted to do a Snape/Lupin reading that was a bit more low-key than the others I'd done, and this story seemed like a good fit. This is another fic featuring the slow evolution of a relationship over time, which is apparently something of a favorite with me.
