While I’m pretty sure the song referred to in the fic is Culture Club’s “Karma Chameleon,” the fic doesn’t actually make it explicit. But it does strongly seem like a song the Trickster would find hilarious. XD In any case, I only used a teensy weensy little clip, but have your pick.

As always, feedback and concrit are very much appreciated. If you happen to listen to both of these podfics, I’d love it if you’d let me know if there was a quality difference: I recorded the first in my usual spot (the basement) and the second in the living room, and I’d like to know if you think the second sounds less echo-y than the first.

I'm going to try the with-music version! It's always more fun listening to other people's versions than my own. ;) (also, I must read ridiculously fast because even your without-music version is five minutes longer than mine /o\)

LOL! I noticed the time difference for both podfics, and my versions are a tad longer than both yours and weimar27's. So I figured I must be pretty long winded. XD

I just finished listening and I really enjoyed it! Even though I've read and listened to this fic multiple times (and know some of the lines by heart now XD), there were still parts in your recording that make me burst into giggles. I've probably told you this before, but I really like the way you voice petulant!Dean. I think your reading was a bit slower in this recording compared to some of your others? It worked really well for this fic.

What quick listening! \o/ This was the first podfic I'd actually sat down and recorded in quite a while, so I was feeling rusty about the whole process. And when I listen to it, the beginning strikes me as way too slow, but I'm glad it worked for you.

Did you notice, when you recorded it, that it was actually rather tricky? It was a bit difficult for me to figure out how to manage the tone, since all the wonky bits are things Dean and Sam don't see as wonky until Bobby points it out to them. Figuring that out slowed me down a bit, too, I think.

Oh man, I recorded this fic more than two years ago (maybe even three years ago, since I recall it being one of my first SPN podfic recordings), so I have no recollection of my thoughts during the recording process -- but I imagine I must've struggled with the tone, figuring out how much to emphasize and reveal to the listener that there was something strange going on. (I kind of want to listen to all three versions of this fic and compare the different styles of recording, haha.)

I was kind of delighted you'd included a clip of the song in the podfic 'cause I honestly had no clue what it was! ^___^;;

XD I had no clue what the song was either, so I used my google-fu and searched "you come and go," and got "Karma Chameleon" as the top result. There were others...but that seemed like the one the Trickster would most appreciate. <3

Since the cashier says, "You come and go, huh?" would that imply Dean was singing "I come and go"...? Idk, I tried googling that, but nothing relevant came up. I did a search for "You come and go lyrics" as well, and the lyrics to Karma Chameleon definitely seem to be the most likely choice! :>

Heh! Indeed, I waffled around a bit on that phrasing, too. Like you, I thought "I come and go" would be the lyric Dean was singing... and then, because of "Karma Chameleon," I decided the cashier was just sort of... requoting the lyric Dean was singing. ^_^;; OH TRICKSTER, Y U SO TRICKY?!

Okay, so I'm absolutely downloading Kings and Queens and Jokers, Too right now, because I cannot wait to hear how you read it. But.... I'm a little hesitant about A Little Dust....Ruby1.0 is not my favoritest of all the Rubies. Give me some more encouragement to brave a Rubylicious story, please?

Really? RUby 1.0 was my fav, because I enjoyed her snark and could never figure out exactly what her agenda was. 2.0 jwas ust...demon blood drinking felt obviously evil right from the get-go.

Hmmm. Well. I liked this one because the pairing wasn't something anybody would ever ship. Parings like that are always interesting to me. It's third person, but we get a lot from Ruby's POV, and voicing her cruel thoughts was ridiculously fun to do. Everything fit neatly into canon, even if there was girl!Dean. girl!Dean having dark little sex flings with Ruby somehow worked much more for me than guy!Dean would've.
