[identity profile] podklb.livejournal.com posting in [community profile] amplificathon
[livejournal.com profile] halfamoon, which is a wonderful two-week celebration of female characters in fandom, has just started. I wanted to contribute something podfic-related to it, and then I found this Awesome Ladies Ficathon (searchable via this delicious) full of little ficlets centered around female characters across many fandoms. And now I have the idea in my head that I want to get a bunch of podfic artists to record ficlets from this ficathon that speak to them, and then collect everything together and post them as an Awesome Ladies Anthology on Feb 13th or 14th. We would also make them available as individual downloads, for people who didn't want the whole anthology.

It's short notice, but they're short ficlets, and I think the end product could be a really lovely way for the podfic world to add to the [livejournal.com profile] halfamoon celebration.

(Plus, for those people doing [livejournal.com profile] podfic_bingo, it could be a good quick way to take care of a bingo square :D)

So, does anyone want to play?

ETA: The project is going really well. There are over 40 ficlets being worked on by various readers, and the end result is going to be amazing. Anybody who would like to join in, for as few or as many stories as you like, let me know and I will PM you the link to spreadsheet where we're keeping track of who is recording what. The more voices, the better, so feel free to jump in at any time. Yay [livejournal.com profile] halfamoon!

ETA2: You can also look through the ficlets on the RPF-only spinoff of the ficathon using this delicious.

I'm grabbing this one! Well, with author consent.

Rather than have you run around, maybe a shared spreadsheet in Google might help us keep from doubling by accident? We can make and share our own edits pretty instantaneously that way.

I'm really excited about this!

I'm definitely up for it! This sounds like a lovely project. However, a few quick question:

A) should we start spamming authors with "Can I podfic you please?" PMs yet?
B) How are we working the format of our (hopefully plentiful) podifcs?
C) How are we keeping track of who's recording what?

I'd be interested, however my computer is currently broken it should be fixed soon but I can't fully commit until I know when I'll get it back. I'll PM you with a list of what I'm interested when I know for sure that I can record. Does that work?

No, that is fine. I am considering a second tiny ficlet but I do not know how much time I will have (never having done this before).

So, I'm about to start recording, and I was wondering, how much 'header info' do we give? Like, should we say awesome ladies podfic anthology on every one, or name the ficathon? I'm thinking maybe name the ficathon, one of my authors asked that I do that. And name of the story, author, reader, fandom, warnings, yes?
