Date: 2011-01-29 10:23 pm (UTC)(though I have to admit that actually I haven't a clue what a podbook is, despite doing a bit of wandering about trying to figure it out. I assume it's a good thing though!)

Date: 2011-01-30 12:39 am (UTC)A podbook is a fannish audiobook or m4b. I compile them with cover art, and unlike mp3s they are automatically bookmarkable and, in iTunes, are filed in a separate playlist so they don't show, play, etc. with music. They also show in a separate category on an iPod.
Some mp3 players can handle podbooks, but many cannot. For listeners who can access their features, they are often the format of choice.
I've posted the 'book; an archivist will be along asap. :-)
