After two listens-through in the last month, I'm actually not at all sick of "Round and Round", though I think it's given me that earworm you mentioned :P

Great choice, though. It adds a nice hectic energy to the quick flip-through of universes in the middle of the story, where a silence to mark the change would have had a totally different effect.

(Also, the reader's notes you add to the end of a lot of your recordings are endlessly endearing! It's fun to get even a little bit of a sense of who you are and not just what your voice sounds like.)

I meant to add - I really liked the quiet energy you brought to the scene with our Daniel and Colonel Jackson. Not that Daniel is always subdued (ha!) and serious, but it lent a nice bit of a gravity to a scene that could have been played off entirely for laughs.

Wow. That's definitely one of the nicest bits of feedback I've gotten. It's neat to hear from people immediately after posting, but to hear from a fellow podfic fan months after I originally posted is just too cool. I'm blushing a little right now. Thank you so much!

I'm sorry about the earworm - but, since you listened all the way through twice, I'm going to assume the podfic was worth it ;-)

And, feedback in two posts - that's, like, double the awesome! Thanks for appreciating the Daniel-Daniel moment - it seemed more of a serious "holy granola, that could have been ME" moment than a "hey, look, matching caterpillar eyebrows" one.

I'm not sorry about the earworm! I still like the song :P Also, I'm glad you like the feedback :D Hearing back from the creators and getting extra bits and bobs (I may have to imagine "matching caterpillar eyebrows" from now on when I hear that scene) makes my day too.

I'm catching up on the Retrograde 'verse (there are so many hearts in my eyes for those stories) and I'm still laughing over a line that describes Rodney in his "full-on hand waving, 'I am Rodney McKay, physicist-emperor of the world' mode", because it's really the nail on the head, right there.

In your case, it would be microphone-brandishing, I think!

I actually haven't tackled the Retrograde 'verse - I'm intimidated by its sheer length and breadth and scope - but I do love Raiders of the Seven Systems (also by Martha Wilson). It's SPACE PIRATES. And, you know, Team Sheppard. But mostly, SPACE PIRATES.

Also, that line is, completely and utterly, one of the best things I've read all day. Thanks for making me smile!

With the archive tentatively back up, I highly, highly recommend the first three stories in the series (although I don't think that "Movie Night" has been added to the tag, so beware the Case of the Missing Coda!)

The series won't be on my Amplirecathon list (doesn't fit the theme!) but I'd probably place it there under other circumstances. ALSO, I am so going to take you up on your SPACE PIRATES rec. Like you said, yay Team Sheppard, but also: SPACE PIRATES. (If you enjoy SPACE PIRATES, have you listened to FayJay's ridiculously long recording of "Gypsies, Tramps, and Thieves"? From the stories you chose to read, you'd probably be more into the McShep side of it, but I'm also bouncing with glee at all of the minor characters, the subtextual femmeslash, and a totally, totally badass Vala.

I have listened to "Gypsies, Tramps, and Thieves" all the way through three times. In all it's ninteen hour glory. That is how much I adore that podifc, I am basically in love with that entire universe forever and ever. So, yes, SPACE PIRATES. ^______________^

The Sam/Teyla undertones in that verse made me SO HAPPY, even though it didn't really pan out. laksndoaiwnfi though, for the world building! And FayJay's reading of one of the torture scenes made my blood run cold; I had to turn it off and go think about something else for a while.

... some days, it feels like I want to rec all of the podfic.
