(Also I have to compliment you for "Kyohtt Hold" - you pronounce it just right, which is awesome, because that was a little personal pun - natives of Kyoto, Japan (where I was living when I wrote this) tend to drop the final "o" when they pronounce their city's name, so it sounds pretty much exactly how you read it!)

I'm so glad you like it - and yes, I Saw What You Did There with the Kyohtt Hold thing - I actually really liked that bit in the story, because it made it fit really well into the Pern universe, with the permutations in language that would probably result from X number of years passing since some Japanese colonist's descendants settled that area. *...is a bit of a geek* But I didn't actually know that that was part of the way modern Kyoto-ben folks pronounce their city name too - neat!
