this is a gift exchange, so only sign up if you can make a good faith commitment to record something for another participant in time to turn it in on or before December 1, 2010.

comment with the following:
- the fandom(s) you would be interested in receiving as a gift. (at least one of the fandoms you list should have held a big bang type challenge in the past, but only one is necessary.)
- you may also list a maximum of two story elements that you'd prefer not to be included that your benefactor can take into account when choosing a story to read for you. (if you want to talk about what you *like* we will have a post where you can leave that in comments where your assignee can find it, some time after September 3, when the assignments go out. we really just want to make sure we don't accidentally hit your major squicks or triggers, here in the signups.)

The one squick I'll list is cheating. I know this can be hard with Kradam and I won't say cheating is a deal breaker, just, I need for the cheating to actually be addressed. Like no, "Oh, lets just not think about Katy tonight" but "so, Katy and I are getting divorced" is ok.

Mostly I'm an anything goes sort of girl (with a slash slant), but my two no, no's would be:
No extremely embarassing situations (see what blueyeti said ealier, that was a much better explanation).
No major inexplicable AUs, as in everyone suddenly goes to high school or is normal or something of the sort (except if we're talking RPS, then AU is preferable, or Magnificent 7 where I'm all for the AUs). I don't need everything to be canon compliant or anything, just as long as the charaters are still recognisiable as themselves.

Do you think you would ever consider doing something like podbang, only not as a gift exchange? I've had poor experiences with exchanges. Something set up more like an actual Big Bang challenge would be more friendly: (1) you won't be disappointed if no one finishes a story for you, (2) you won't feel bad if you can't finish your own entry on time, and (3) you can pick whatever story you want without regard for how other people will receive it.

hi! sure, we do that already as part of the annual amplificathon challenge. long stories get more points, you have months to complete it, you can record anything you like, and there's no commitment. :) of course, anyone can record anything year-round, too. and they often do! i've recorded several epics both for charity auctions (though that takes away the picking your own story thing, as well as adding pressure to complete) and for festivals such as 14valentines, and just for the hell of it.

the difference is that the regular amplificathon gets points (and actually, the longest single recording and the top hours recorded overall both get prizes), while the podbang gets guaranteed feedback and appreciation, plus the excitement of the near-simultaneous release of a large number of long podfics.
