Are podbooks really popular? I've never had anyone ask for anything but mp3s. I mean, sure, that would be great, I'm just wondering whether people prefer them... should I learn how to make them myself?

Podbooks are very popular with those who can use the m4b (audiobook) format, i.e. those with iPods and other players that can handle them. Not all players can, which is why mp3 is the gold standard format; the Archive insists every podfic have an mp3 version so everyone will have access.

I've been converting podfics to podbooks for readers for the last 3 years (over 1000 now), and others compile them as well. The benefits include automatic bookmarking, filing of the podbooks separately from music, and, with mine, a custom cover. My program is for Macs, but I know their is software for PCs as well.

Let me know if you'd like one; meanwhile I'll get the mp3 archived. :-)

I can't guarantee 'books of all of them due to time and energy constraints, but I'll do what I can, and I'll definitely archive any SPN as that's my area of the Archive. :-)
