Date: 2010-05-22 04:45 pm (UTC)I give you a lot of credit for working through Illogical, it's kinda ginormous. And Frank's was also one of my favorites to do. He's just so bitter and angry, it was difficult to get into his head, while podficcing it. I this one lives up to expectations. Enjoy.

Date: 2010-05-22 06:28 pm (UTC)Now I am back to listening through Illogical during my travel times, and I am thinking of going for a walk later just to give myself an excuse to hear some more. It's really engrossing, and also is the first time I've ever liked ST:Reboot. It kinda makes me want to watch the movie again, which is not something I ever thought I'd want. I'm on Chapter 17 right now and looking forward to seeing what other perspectives are going to be explored.
The thing about the Frank chapter that stood out was that you did *such* an effective job of building a mood, that sort of fury/frustration/indignation. I was sort of storming down the sidewalk listening to it, and then pausing to be impressed that it had swept me up in the feelings so well. I really liked the Sarek and T'Pring sections as well, because they did a good job of conveying emotions while also feeling measured and logical and Vulcan.

Date: 2010-05-22 08:10 pm (UTC)Ironically, Illogical is making me less inclined to watch the Reboot. It's kinda corrupting my personal canon, so when I watch the Reboot I keep getting confused. :/ 17? That's what? Punch It? A personal favorite. :D
Thank you, thank you. :D I love it when people tell me that the reading affects them in such a way. It's one of the best compliments, I think. Someone told me that they had listened to something I'd done, and ended up missing their train-stops a couple of times, since they kept getting lost in the story. ^o^
Oh man. T'Pring and Sarek were the ones I put off as long as possible. I was not looking forward to trying to effectively convey restrained emotions. Oddly, they were two of the parts that I enjoyed recording the most. I ended up over enunciating everything to try to convey that. Over precision in terms of articulation and enunciation...which is kinda funny since I've been informed that I usually over enunciate on a usual basis.
I'm really glad you've liked the podfics, thus far. I've ended up doing a lot of my personal favorites.

Date: 2010-05-24 10:27 pm (UTC)Have listened to this more than once, it sort of became "my don't freak out just relax for a moment"-story this weekend when I was finishing up my BA thesis. So yeah thanks for saving my sanity :) lol
