As an utterly impartial, totally uninvolved, completely objective listener of reena_jenkins's podfics, I thought that, given the sheer number of hours of my life I've spent listening to her talk in my ear, it was only right and proper that I devote a post this Amplirecathon to the most prolific podficcer I have ever known.

So here are 10 of my very favorite Reena Podfics!*

you know it never occurred to me that taking a day in the second week would mean that most of my first thought recs for podfics would most likely have been rec'ed before it ever got to me. doh! ::crosses reena's off the list::

Just… I'm grinning like a crazy person. So hard. And it's getting me funny looks from Littlest Sis, because I'm supposed to be doing Social Studies homework right now, and the history of the American Revolution (the course I'm taking right now is subtitled, "And You Thought You Were Done With Shit When You Took The AP Exam. Sucker!") is not exactly one that leads to face-splitting grins and giggles.

Seriously. Just…. you make me sound so much better than I actually am! I mean, yeah, I'm a fan of my own stuff - it's pretty much why I podfic, except for all the times that my own voice puts me to sleep - but, just…. I'm not really all that awesome. I'm not! And in real life, I'm not that funny either. But you make me sound like the kind of person that would be really awesome to get to know, and then I'm like, "Um, okay? You want to know…. yourself?" and then I have a brain-fart.

(This reaction occurred right around your rec for A Very Luthor Wedding. Which, if I'd known about drunk podficcing at the time, would have been a PERFECT CHOICE.)

Actually, I tend not to relisten to my podfics after a certain amount of time has passed (probably because then I have new ones to listen to, and a short attention span), and quite a few of these clips from my bb!podficing days (Decimation, Skin Deep, Story of a Girl) made me want to reach into the past, shake myself by the shoulders, and shout, "Lean away from the microphone while you're breathing! Why do you need so much oxygen?!" But that's neither here nor there.

But… just…. Now I'm all flustered and smiling and thinking about hugging random people on the sidewalk. I'm going to be in a great mood all day, I can tell, and I'm totally going to bookmark this for days when I'm feeling shitty. ("Are You Feeling Down In The Dumps? Try BESSYBOO, For All Your Emotional Pick-Me-Ups!")

Oh! And you mentioned how Decimation inspired your fem!Kirk cosplay - I showed Littlest Sis the pic of you as Toni Stark (from the femmevengers photos) the other day, and guess who she wants to be for NYC Comicon Kids Day? (The correct answer is actually Jackie Harkness, also thanks to your photos, but she said that I could be Toni Stark, since we're going together. Or I could be Thor.) I really hadn't noticed how many genderswap podfics I've made, especially since I have such a tenuous relationship with genderswap (if it's written well, I love it, but otherwise it irks me like whoa). But I'm glad you've been enjoying them! Stay tuned for pod_together….. *cue anticipation-building music*

Seriously. You're the best. Thank you SO MUCH for all the nice things you just said! So many hugs and high fives for you, Bess. (And, yes, you did beta Waltz - you told me to cut down on the musical interludes, because putting the entire song in the podfic was unnecessary minutes-padding. And then you gave great squee about the rest ^___~ )

I totally gobble down Reena's stuff, too, but there is SO MUCH OF IT that it's so easy to miss some! Thank you so much for pointing me in the direction of more Awesome Reena-pods!!!! (and I love the verbal recs. Epic!win!!!!!)
