Title:  An Admirable Solution

Excerpt:  Ray was a sucker for pizza, and so it was over a large half-pineapple, half-extra cheese pizza at Mama Carmela's that Fraser suddenly looked up and said, "We've been friends for some time now, haven't we, Ray?"
Ray had, at that moment, brought a slice of pizza halfway to his mouth, but he'd been married for fifteen years and he knew an important relationship-conversation-opener when he heard one, so he put the pizza down. "Yeah, Fraser. We sure have."
Fraser nodded, like Ray was just confirming something he'd already suspected. "And while we haven't always seen eye to eye on things, it's certainly safe to say that we've established a rapport, right?"
"Right," Ray agreed, and joined Fraser in a hearty round of nodding.  "We are just chock full of rapport, you and me."

Reader’s notes:  I would like to thank [livejournal.com profile] luzula for her generous and talented contribution of the singing bits, and also my heartfelt thanks go out to [livejournal.com profile] izzady for her thoughtful and very helpful beta of this podfic.  Also, comments are always very welcome, love to hear what you think of this...

Eeee! I am so looking forward to listening to it! Which, in practice, means that I am going to save it up like candy and then listen to it when I really need something good.

I've never even watched Due South, but your description made this fic sound fantastic, and I was not disappointed. Looking forward to listening to your podfic now!

I've found [livejournal.com profile] amplificathon to be a great way to find new fic to try--if a story was good enough for someone to spend hours and hours podfic'ing, that's a pretty strong recommendation. :o)

I finally got a chance to listen to your reading! It was really well done--I especially loved your smug Ray voice. Also impressed that you went to the trouble to get someone to sing the songs so prettily!

I know what you mean about feedback! It's hard to know what you're doing right and wrong when all people will say is "OMG HEARTEYES" or something :o) Not that that isn't nice in its own way...

The recording itself was great--no background noise or popping on your p's (something I still have to work on). If I had to give one critique, it's that every so often it was hard to tell who was speaking, if both Ray and Fraser were speaking in the same tone of voice and there were no dialog tags--in the conversation about hockey, for instance. It didn't come up very much, though!

Oh dear, I wouldn't call myself a podficcer yet--I'm still such a newbie! I'm working on my second one now, and while the sound quality is a lot better since I'm using a real microphone this time, I'm still have trouble with my plosives popping--so thank you for the tips!

My favourite part of your reading was this tiny dreamy stream of consciousness from Ray at one point, I forget what he was saying but you sounded half sleepy half drugged and it was awesome:)
