Sentinel Slash Podfic: Conforming to Requirements. Music and Non Music Version.

Reader's note:

There are two versions of this podfic, a music enhanced version where I utilized music played by the author, fluterbev, who is an accomplished flute player in traditional Irish music. It is used to introduce the story, indicate chapter breaks and whenever the author used a visual break in the text, and to end the story. There are places where there are sound effects and where I speak over the music for dramatic effect.

And then there is a music free version, for any listeners who prefer their podfic with just the reader's voice. There is silence to indicate the visual breaks in the text and to indicate a chapter is ending.

This story was recorded for Moonridge 2009, a charity event in the Sentinel Fandom.

Story Summary A novel length AU set in a parallel world, where Sentinels are prized members of society and Guides are second class citizens. Sentinel Ellison doesn’t want to Bond, and his unconventional, temporary Guide is not allowed to.

The lovely cybel donated her time for Moonridge to make a podbook of the music version, for those who bid on this podfic and I'm sure she will post it. I can't, my computer crashed several months ago and my links to the podbook were lost.

Yes, indeedy, I'd like it very much to have a non music version podbook available.

It took a while, but I have a new computer, and finally transferred my old hard drive over to a external hard drive so I could finally post this podfic. (It was in exile until I could rescue it) And then I've been reading all the meta and discussion on music vs non music in podfics and decided I should also offer non music versions from now on.

Sentinal isn't a canon I'm familiar with, but I just wanted to say thank you for giving us the option to listen with or without music! As someone who does sometimes have difficulty dealing with multiple layers of sound, I appreciate the extra effort (from both you and the archiving team!)

My previous podfics all included music, but after I became aware that some folks prefer non-music, for whatever reason, I decided to make all my current and future podfics available in the non-music format, too. I intend to go back and salvage any of my earlier podfics by running them back through Audacity and cutting out the music sequences, if I can. Some I won't be able to do that because the music track was laid down along with the audio track and when you put it in Mp3 format they meld together and can't be broken apart. At least I don't know how to do that.

The two guys in the icon? That's Jim and Blair, Jim's a cop born with a genetic advantage of having enhanced senses, but he repressed them as a kid and when they came back with a vengeance, he found some help from Blair, an anthropology grad student studying sentinels (the guys who according to legends had the enhanced senses). There's cop stuff, and friendship stuff, and mystical stuff, and without having to do much adjusting of any slash glasses, lover stuff in this fandom.
