I hate to tell you this but part 2 totally messed up. There is no sound.
I downloaded both the mp3 and the mb4 version and there is nothing there for the after 8 secs to 15:15 minutes.

jesse_the_k: The smoking pipe from Magritte's "Treachery of Images" itself captioned in French script "this is not a pipe" captioned "not an icon" (loved it all)

The fic was wonderful -- as you know, since I bet you devoted at least 100 hours to making this excellent recording. You walked just the right side of the thin wall between narration and acting. You acted enough so I never was in doubt who was speaking; you narrated enough so [livejournal.com profile] general_jinjur's words were foremost.

And I got a week's worth of night time stories and a pot of borscht out of it.

Now I have another search criterion for grazing the archive: reading by [livejournal.com profile] aphelant!

Listened to this a couple days ago. Your story-choosing ability is just amazing. Like, you always pick stories that are not only really strong stories, but also unique and interesting. So I would have loved this one for story choice alone. But then, of course, your narration from Dawn-POV was perfect, and the way you handled all the emotions of the story, just totally absorbing, as always, as always.

And then I listened to The Secret Life of Scientists today, which was once again a totally unique story and once again, your voice as this way of melting into the story and *becoming* it, so that I really can't imagine it any other way. Which is why I continue to slowly but surely work my way through all your recordings; you're very reliable as a reader in that way.

Liked your read very much, your voice is lovely to listen to and the way you move the story forward was compelling...plus it's a great story. I liked the emotional shading you used, I thought it was very effective. The different voices you used were great, I could completely hear the little "Buffy-isms" and "Rodney-isms" for lack of better terms.
