I know y'all are probably tired of hearing about it, but as far as I can tell, the website really has disappeared now? Previously, it could be accessed through the http://audiofic.... link instead of the www.audiofic.... link, but even that isn't working anymore. Direct download links still do work, which is good news for anyone who's used those in their posts, but the front end has completely disappeared now.

That's frankly a bummer because there is some podfic that was only hosted there, and also only posted there, especially in older fandoms.

[personal profile] paraka shared some vague info about possible plans two months ago when the www. url went inactive, and I wonder if that's the reason the website is gone now. It's disconcerting though that there's just no info at all on what's going on/what we should expect if the plans that paraka mentioned really are what's being done now?

UPDATE: I just checked the archive again and it seems the front end is back? Today's Apr 28 and from what I can see the website is back online.

I am not tired of hearing about it all. I was actually hoping we'd get some news. :(

I got a message a bit ago saying that the archive was not at squidge.org, but, if you go there, no such luck. They have a kind of rudimentary video and audio hosting site, but it looks like it has maybe 100 podfics, at most? Definitely not the archive.

Still hoping they fix it up right.

I thought a different/new team was dealing with the AA now; I *wish* we got SOME communication about what's happening, the project, a vague timeline, etc. I (and countless others I'm sure if the past is any indication) would be down for helping in any way I can, and even if my help is not welcome or needed, it seems to me that an archive that is in possession of a collection of works by many people like this one should at least feel some moral obligation to communicate even if minimally with those people? I'm a little :(( about it all. To put it euphemistically.
